Team 10

I’m starting to regret passing on a few of the bucks I did early this season. I don’t normally have a “hit list” but this year I was lucky enough to have three good bucks around. One of which my brother-in-law killed on 11-3, one kind of disappeared in mid October and there is this buck. He’s honestly been driving me crazy. He’s always around when I’m not, I’ve seen him twice once at a distance and once at 25 yards with no shot. I have one more chance at him with the bow on Friday and that’s it for our archery season.

That's a neat buck. I would want that rack on the wall.

Went out this morning. I left my stuff set up from yesterday. I forgot how nice it is to just climb up and hunt. Saw a small doe, and one buck cruzing about 100yrds out through the brush and trees. Gave some grunts and a few bleats. He just keep his nose down working along. He was headed towards the bedding area. Not sure if he was a big one or not. Looked like a tall 1.5. But never got a good look at him through my scope. To much stuff in the way. I'll set up more that way next time I think. Depends what the wind is doing.

Passed on a few does and a spike in the last few days. Had someone try to steal one of my cameras, and I found it on the ground open about 20 feet away from my tree so I moved it to another spot I’ve hunted a few times this season but never had a camera there. Moved the camera around 4 yesterday, and had 2 does, a big bodied deer that I couldn’t tell what it was and this guy. Decided to go there this morning and try to get into his bed. Had him come back in around 7:30 out of a thick swamp 54DE9B10-E04B-4644-AB5C-ADE3B458BE60.jpegand bed down 50 yards from me. Hit the bleat can, grunt and even light rattling and he would turn his head and perk up but never got up. Eventually I rattled again and he got up, looked in my direction and walked into the swamp. Hopefully I’ll be able to get in on him him before shotgun season starts around here! Heading up to Maine this weekend for a rifle hunt. A lot to look forward too!
