TEAM 11 Discussion Thread

I was out hanging around today but saw no deer, only squirrels and hundreds of spotted lantern flies. They are killing many trees here. I will try to get out tomorrow morning. I checked out a new spot this afternoon as I was leaving and saw fresh deer tracks and droppings. I'm going there.

Making a hunt all day. Magnolia Ms. 52 degrees no wind. Already had a doe and 2 fawns stop by eat for about 20 minutes.
hopefully that nice buck swings by.
Had these 2 under me for 45 minutes. Didn’t take a shot.

Good news and bad news. Bad news, I hunted from my old reliable double man ladder stand yesterday evening. Good news, the deer at my lease are moving good now and I shot a doe. Bad news, can't claim her on the contest. Bad news, I thought I made a good shot but only hit one lung. I bumped her out of bed twice, backed out. Went back early this morning, coyotes had already tore her up.

I was out Friday and recorded this. Later I was dozing, hanging turned to the left side and figured I would adjust my position to eliminate saddle sores. When I looked down to my right a small doe was looking up at me, about 10 feet away, wondering what this strange shape was up in the tree. I looked away slowly and tried to get my cell phone out slowly. By the time I got it recording, the doe was walking away slowly.

Went this morning, hunted over a fresh scrape, saw one doe but couldn't find an opening for an arrow. This afternoon I've got my 2 children ages 8 and 6 with me. Hunted a pop up blind overlooking a small foodplot. Looks promising hopefully they can stay quiet long enough for a nanny to work her way in.

That's what it's all about.

Uh Oh!!! Are you wearing your saddle?

I think the rules state you must be wearing your saddle while hunting. I don't know if there is a height limit while shooting.
Edit: Just checked.
1. The kill must be out of a saddle style stand, any legal weapon is allowed.

Finally! Urban deer zone with no antler restrictions. If it's brown, it's down!
