Definitely the right call to back out. Rarely can we pinpoint a shot location and angle right after the shot without having video so when in doubt, back out. If that’s where the arrow went in there’s a lot of important stuffed within 6” of there so I hope he’s piled up close

PS.....being low angle is a benefit in this situation.

Thanks brother, totally caught me off guard while one sticking up. Doe came running by so I got the bow up and it was all tangled. Got it off and drew when he ran out. Total crap show but I’m just on the confident side of the fence. My buddy is heading here when he’s done hunting to help track it. Then a big 8 pointer came out of nowhere and chased his doe off. What an afternoon, I wasn’t even gonna hunt today too.

Yeah I was hoping to go this morning. It feels like a good one. Got a new saddle and itching to get some time in it. Buuuuuttttt the kids apparently get a whole week off for thanksgiving these days....back in my day....planning to go tomorrow and try a spot I have been waiting for a west wind. Great job on the deer guys. Congrats to all. And i didnt read the post on the shot placement but that shot looks like it would have been deadly. Maybe a bit far forward but definitely in the pocket. What all did you catch with the broadhead?

back out about 500 yards from where I shot my 9 pointer the other night. A stud of an 8 came out and chased my bucks doe off up into this area. Thick bedding, cover and multiple trails and vegetation edges joining where I’m at so I’m feeling good. Keep after them fellas and enjoy the holidays, hopefully I’ll have another buck to share with you guys this evening.

I sat in the recon this morning. I need to play with it alot more. Liked and hated it. Saw 5 bucks but nothing legal to shoot other than a spike and he stood facing me for 5 solid minutes and never turned. Was a good day. Getting a bit more comfortable getting in and out of tree and in saddle. So maybe I will put one down soon. Have a 5 day drawn hunt in far south texas next week. Not much in the way of trees but hoping to find something to hand from a few feet off the ground. Happy thanksgiving men. I know it has been a rough year. Take time to enjoy things that are still good.
