Thanks y’all! These public land deer only ever come out with 2 minutes of legal shooting light left. Just once I’d like to track and dress a deer in some daylight. @Jwiggins762 you get your OCB? Ready for some hunting?

I did i got two this time. I am ready, this past weekend i struggled and got rained on. This weekend is suppose to be awesome, we got a cold front moving in. Im ready to get one on the ground.
 
I’ve been out and its been slow going for me. Been on some deer but nothing to show for it yet. No does have given me any shots. I was at full draw on a deer as he came out of the swamp, and he stepped into my opening at 5 yards, I figured out what buck he was from the pictures I have of him. A giant 4 pt, may be 3 years old but I’m not positive. Leaning toward 2. The next night I had a 140 class 10 point come across a marsh on me and go to my left at 10 yards, giving me no shot due to the thick cover. I’m going to see if I can make it happen this weekend if this rain ever stops in Michigan. Ranger Matthews, hell of a deer brother! Need to send some of that juju my way!

Well my trip has been a success. Unfortunately it won’t get us any points because I shot my buck on the only hunt I carried my climber in lol. Still trying for a doe tomorrow. Missed one today from the saddle. Not sure what went on. Arrow hit several feet in front of the deer. Not sure if I was in some sort of bind or what. Anyway here is my kansas public land buck. 20 inch spread making him my widest ever.

Feeling good about tomorrow boys, i think its gonna happen in the morning for me. Been cyber scouting, and found some trails between oaks and potential bedding.

Good luck man! Rut is definitely kicking off in middle Tennessee here. Should be fun.
 
Well i almost got a doe, seen her at 42 yards. Then she worked her way in to about 25 yards and she almost gave me a broadside shot. Ending up walking straight towards me to 10 yards looked up and seen me then blowed and ran off. Cant stop shaking, almost got it done on public. Damn!!! Got to keep at it.

I hear ya man. I’ve been getting busted by does so hard this year. Does on public are just on edge! You’ll get it done. Just don’t give up. Your team needs you!

I know, if it was easy i would'nt do it. Didnt hunt this evening, will give it another shot tomorrow evening.
