Team 15 discussion thread

I got out a few times last week, passed on a few does and a small 8 point. Had that nice cold front push through late last week and looks like another one is coming next weekend. Still learning the new properties that I'm hunting this year so it should be interesting!

No luck in Ohio, but today is the Massachusetts opener and I'm headed to a piece that is walkable from my house in the saddle. Saw a doe and 6 point yesterday come out of the WMA, so going to set up about 30 yards from where I saw them come out and hope for the best.

Just one sit for me this weekend. Got skunked.

Went out twice this weekend, drew back on a doe but she walked right under my platform and couldn't get a shot at her. It was really windy this weekend here in Michigan.

I have a few sits. Last sit had pigs all around me but never got a shot opportunity. Well had big pregnant sow broadside at 35 yards but she changed direction to get there, I ranged her and she moved before i could even lower the rangefinder. Had an older spike jump out his bed 20 yards from my tree and we played cat and mouse for 45 minutes but no shot opportunity and technically would’ve been only wearing a saddle. Lol

Going up north a bit for primitive season starting this weekend. Usually have good luck up there.

Headed to Coopers Rock this weekend to try some different terrain. 12,000 aces here in WV. Been a few times but never for hunting. Have some spots picked out from onX topo maps but we'll see how it goes on the walk in. I'll be back the following Saturday for the weekend doe rifle season. Gather some intel this weekend and hopefully have some success the 26th

had a spike walk past last night and could see the corn tops moving around in the field and heard some bleating but nothing else we’ve gotta get some more on the board guys

I got skunked on public Saturday. My father in law saw a small 6 point about 100 yards to my north. I’m headed out on Saturday for the early doe rifle season that lasts the weekend. Should be good for some points.

I only got out for a morning hunt on Saturday last weekend on the transition into a Marsh bedding area. Got in well before dark but didn’t catch anything coming back to bed. There were several new scrapes and rubs within 50 yards so will be looking to head back there for an afternoon sit next weekend. Pulled my camera from another property that isn’t open to hunting till mid November and had a bunch of different bucks on camera just before daylight. That gives me a lot of optimism for the rut. This is the best one but I’d be happy with any of them.

I got on the board this morning at 8:15. My first bow buck kill and first saddle kill. 6 pointer if they deem the brows long enough.

almost shot a doe on my walk in yesterday afternoon. Set up down wind of some beds I found over the winter in the snow. Used 14 of 16 bolts in my squirrel carrier so I was pretty high up. Noticed a nice sized rub on the exit trail from the thick stuff. Saw a small 8 point cross the bench below me about 70 yards and a bobcat so I’m still a big zero.
