Team 15 discussion thread

My sciatic is going to keep me out of trees for a while longer.

But I have milkweed to share with the team!! :)

PM me and I'll send 2 pods worth in a ziplock via USPS to the address you provide.

While supplies last!

almost shot a doe on my walk in yesterday afternoon. Set up down wind of some beds I found over the winter in the snow. Used 14 of 16 bolts in my squirrel carrier so I was pretty high up. Noticed a nice sized rub on the exit trail from the thick stuff. Saw a small 8 point cross the bench below me about 70 yards and a bobcat so I’m still a big zero.
That must have been a cool encounter to see a bobcat!

Thanks for the offer but one of the spots I hunt is loaded with these wind direction wonders so I’m well stocked.

Walked a piece of public I checked out in March and planned to hunt this coming weekend. Had two potential spots picked out based on last year sign that I found. Didn’t have to look too hard to find these. The rub is about 5-10 yards from the scrape. So I’ll be downwind of here in about 3 days.

Good luck!

Guys I’m trying. Sat this morning and this evening. Let a buck walk this morning, had does 2 yards away in thick brush with no clear shot. They said I smelled bad and ran away with their tails up. I was already putting 5 more points on our score. Oh well, our season lasts til Jan 1. Shot a doe in a box blind with my five year old last week, but no saddle involved. Points are coming from the mudminnow

All packed for tomorrow should be there by 4 am and hopefully hanging from my sit drag at 5. Traded for a kestrel this week but I haven’t gotten a chance to try it out so sticking with the diy for now.
Should be 30 degrees on the walk in. Hung a camera over the scrape I found Tuesday and got pics of a 9 point visiting. Hoping for an action packed day tomorrow and put some points on the board.

Phone said it was 20 degrees at 3 when my alarm went off but wasn’t any warmer at 4:30 lol. Nobody in the parking lot at 5:15 when I got there. Was all set up at 6:30. Saw 8 or 9 does before 10:30 (one was probably the same deer) but no bucks. Fun trip I may go back there later this year and try a different area. Still a big goose egg here.

Lot’s of fun when there is so much action even if big daddy doesn’t show up.

Got my meat back from the processor today. 60# of sausage, 25# of bbq sticks and 25# of regular snack sticks. No room in the freezer for another one. Do you stop hunting when the freezer is full or keep hunting and donate to hunters for the hungry?

Sounds about like what I get done with my deer - my wife loves the jerky and sticks so that's a great excuse for me to get out! I personally stop when my freezer is full - maybe you just need a bigger freezer!

I almost punched a tag last night on a mature 8 pt.

Buck came on my weak side about 4 o'clock and by the time I turned to shoot that direction he was out of sight. I've got 5 days I'm taking off work in the next 2 weeks, so I'm hoping to make it happen!

The trick is to have two chest freezers and whatever you don’t eat by next season you donate
