I missed a big one in Ohio last year....I hear he survived gun season. Well I hit a limb. But either way, I have revenge on my mind and I know where he likes to be!

We have some nice deer on cam in Kentucky and Kansas. I saw one of the biggest bucks I have ever seen in Kansas around opening day this year. I have enough vacation saved up to be a ghost in my office come late October and November. I told them not to come looking as I might not be there! Lol....This season has a potential to be one of my best!

No luck tonight. I do have tomorrow off work, so feeling positive about tomorrow!
 
No luck for me either. Jumped the doe i was after bedded 100 yards from stand on way in. Going Saturday for sure.
 
On my hunt this morning saw a few deer and a coyote. Awesome morning so far. Only frustrating thing is the new ladder stand I can see from my spot. Hunting private and for the last 4 years been the only one allowed on this piece of land. So either their trespassing or the farmer or landowners let someone else here. Ugh. Thats one thing I don't like about saddles. Is the "claiming of your spot".
 
Well... Didn't happen this weekend. But man what a beautiful weekend. Ended up getting busted drawing on a doe, that hasn't happened in a while, had several shots on a couple fawn. Really got my heart set on that freezer doe. Safety and good luck to all. We really need to get on that board!!

Had a doe at 25 yards yesterday morning but she stayed behind a patch of laurel and didn’t have a shot. Beautiful day up here though. Back at it on Wednesday.
 
Friday was hunting on public next to the bank of an old oxbow lake. 5 til 6pm here comes a boat around the bend pointed right to where I was hanging. I thought surely these guys arent trying to get in here this late and get in a tree. Of course not, they pulled up 65 yards from me, leave the 2 stroke motor running and proceed to run not one but 2 trotlines right next to me. And because efficiency is so completely overrated, they ran both lines removing 2 fish, then went back around to re-bait. Of course I got the obligatory loud enough to hear the next county over conversation because gas is cheap so there is no need to turn the motor off. Nevermind the beating and banging around in the boat. They finally left about 20 after 6. Relocated to a different area for saturday where the wind would work better and saw a nice nice buck but no shot was offered.
 
Busted twice since Oct. 1 at only 15 yards

I never claimed to be a great hunter. But I am picking good spots so far

Once by a big doe and once by a very nice buck. It was a huge buck with an average rack. Right spots wrong cover

I've had chances to kill Does, but always early in the hunt with perfect conditions, I've been optimistic that a target buck will cruise along, but nothing yet. May have to force the issue and get us on the board here shortly. We've got to get of the schneid.
 
My schedule showing not having a chance to get out until late next week. Board or no board my freezer is getting low! Haha
