Team 2 BB - Bambi Blasters

Nice. You going for silvers? Good halibut too.
Yep that's the plan, and my uncle is getting a blacktail tag I believe, my trip overlaps with his so hopefully he shoots one while I'm there. My dad is out as well, they've been a few times, I went once last year and we loaded up the freezers. I was lucky to catch a white king last year as well. I'll be honest I am holding it out a bit here, but it was still a pretty big fish by my standards.Screenshot_20220918-153137.png

As far as plans I'll just be in Michigan but I've got a mix of private and public from Marion on down into Jackson county, might give public in lenawee or Hillsdale county a try if it's convenient.

Have an extra fun time for both of us. I miss AK so much.

Hey all. PA here. Planning on lots of sits in October in PA. Also some rifle in VA mid November. Looking forward to it.

Let me know if your gonna head down that way. I have walked some of the Sharron hallow stuff. Seems to be plenty of deer. But have only hunted a few places in December. Trying to go back and hunt where the meet up was. I found a couple places that peaked my interest. But didn't hunt a lot there.

Will do, mattman. I forgot about sharron hollow actually

So where are y'all and how long have you been at this?

I'm a rookie , but almost 36, in Greenville Michigan ( kinda by Grand Rapids)

I feel pretty good about getting a public doe but we'll see. Planning to put an arrow in any pretty much any legal deer I can. I have a few friends that'll be happy to help set me up so I shouldn't go kill-less but I'm trying to figure it out myself too

Hey team! I'm on the board with 7 (I'll throw a ruler in that broken spike if needed, it's over an inch lol)! I won't get out again until October but I'm going to be hunting my arse off this year and hoping to continue to contribute! I'm in Maryland, where we can shoot unlimited does in my area and up to 3 bucks as long as I shoot one in gun season. Those rules haven't led to me getting many deer yet (doe last year from the ground, then this guy from the saddle on opening day) but I feel like this year is my year. We shall see, I'm looking forward to being on team 2 regardless of how it works out!

Don't forget to post the picture in the official Submission Thread @thedutchtouch . You're obviously wearing your saddle so this one is perfect!

Thanks, done!

Life got in the way. Didn't make it out for early doe season. Was kinda warm anyway. Plus I am trying to get the kids to knock one down here. So first deer may come from the ground. Will see. October 1st is the real opener. So will see what happens.

What plans does everyone have for the year. I’ve got two definite trips to Kentucky maybe a third. Here at home and maybe a trip or two down east

I'm getting out whenever I can find the time. Like others have mentioned, my weekends are a little rough with sports. Soccer games for one of my boys on Saturdays, and Sundays for the other. They go all the way through the end of October. Then my oldest will start basketball which will mean games on Saturdays through the end of the year.

On the positive, I stumbled into a promising situation for does at least. A friend asked if I'd be interested in doe hunting an urban spot he has permission for. Landowner wants more deer taken, and my buddy doesn't have enough time to take more. My buddy has been hunting it for 5+ years and has had one sit without shot opportunities. Tags are only available for does until so many does are taken. So I'm not holding my breath on an urban buck tag. Even though my weekends look rough, I can be in stand in about 10 minutes. So after work is going to be in play.

Season opens Oct. 1 here (IA). I'm getting excited....but I'm going to need to see some cooler temps before I get too crazy!

Good luck everyone!

This is my first season as an empty nester. That said, four weekends are already booked visiting kids in college plus a wedding. We open 10/1 here in VT, and we don't have much in the way of big racked deer. I mostly hunt hoping to put a doe down and I can get on one or two every other year. So far even numbered years have been my thing so...there's that.

Good luck everyone, both with the hunt and with safety.
