Team 2 BB - Bambi Blasters

So, thought I had a plan forming. The wind is supposed to be opposite of today, out of the east which is pretty rare, then switching to out of the north. It was mostly out of the south today.

I know it's later in the day. Try the same spot? There's standing corn north, a little west from that spot, so that's my food thought. Leaves down, green is pretty rare out there. I've got a few hills with a few ponds (? Standing water anyway) , there's a flowing stream not on maps a little south...

Not sure how to play it, appreciate any thoughts!

Where is the cover at? Pressure been pretty hard around there?
I got rain in the forecast for tomorrow down here.
How much can you see from on top of those hills? Maybe different approach. Get up there at sunrise and glass around. Get some eyes on something?
Is the feed areas your finding open or pretty isolated? I would be looking for the thicker cover during the day they may have not been harassed to bad if the pressure has been up. Don't over look next to the parking lot.
Just some ideas.....

Very much appreciate the advice.!

You can see, 150-200 tops I'd guess( optimistically). It's up and down there. There's thick stuff, wet though. South, fairly small areas and I had beds south when I had snow . Feed is browse, only green stuff left but time enough to #2, hopefully that means they're taking their time

I'm in a travel area, trying to narrow it down. I now farther south there was suspicious amounts of trails by a parking spot, they're onto us!

Well I did my part but some one beat me in there. It's raining now anyway I am not equipped for 30s or 40s ( high today) rain. Feel pretty down anyway, that's the best sign I've seen since the middle of October.

Back to bow and try again next weekend!

Hey guys. I'm pretty disappointed but I wanted to let you know that I won't be getting out for PA rifle.

I hurt my foot in late August and finally went to the podiatrist in September. They tried to put me in a boot and I said no because I knew it would affect my hunting. Well my foot hasn't gotten better and I saw the doctor again today. Now I'm in a boot and on meds. I'm glad I was able to contribute with my VA buck, but I won't be out for rifle season. I hope to be able to get out for late archery season and contribute a second deer.

Get better! Hopefully you heal up quick!
It's all good. Health is more important.

Agreed, heal up and focus on the hunts ahead there will be more if you recover "correctly"!

Check your area. Muzzleloader begins the 2nd. Depending on what area your in, you can still use your gun.Screenshot_20221129-202010-398.png

I was actually telling my friend down in Napoleon about this last night, probably around the time you posted this, lol.

I am not smart enough to realize that I live and hunt in zone 3 north of the limited firearms line and that that means I can still use my 350! And the way I was shooting my bow last night I had better :disrelieved:

Good catch, thanks!

Alright fellas...last bow hunt before gun opens. Going to be close quarters. Fingers crossed. I'm in a spot I had a close call on the ground with a big 10 two weeks ago. Would love to see him again but I'm not going to be picky. If it's brown it's down this afternoon. Good luck if you're getting out!

Good luck!

Good luck @skell !

I am still not sure how or when I am going to be able to get out next however I have had the same buck (6ish, can't tell on my spypoint lol) walk by at 4 and then 3:45 yesterday and today. Hoping this pattern continues and if so I feel like I'm going to have a fever or something early next week and have to take a sick day from work and get some fresh air.

Well it's supposed to be quite windy tomorrow but I plan on being out. Probably bow. Might go to some new ground with a friend, might not

Good luck!

I've been struggling. Close calls with no arrows launched yet. Hopefully December proves to be more fruitful than November!
