I'm going out Saturday. I have no game plan yet, but I'll be in the woods. Likely returning to the same general spot where I missed that beauty of a buck exactly two months ago. I don't expect him to be in the same spot, but the saddle/peninsula/clearing combo seems like a pretty deer-y transition spot at any point of the season? So we shall see what I see.
Making up a game plan as I type, may drive in just before light and take a hour or two to slowly walk in and see what I can see from the ground, before potentially picking a tree to climb. Any opinions on mornings this time of year? It's raining all day today, should be highs low 40s, lows 20s-30s for the next few days. Main reason I want to visit this same spot is it's forecast to be a West wind, and that works really well for access, my scent will get blown out over the water instead of up into the woods.
I want to move my cameras as well (basically out of the area I was hunting early season to this area I discovered in October, but that requires parking in a different access to retrieve them. Perhaps I'll run over there mid day, not sure. Decisions.
