good luck (on both) hopefully she doesn't have COVID, hopefully you have success hunting. I'm headed out saturday to the same area I shot my first doe a few weeks ago. she was running around with a yearling? fork horn. i decided to shoot her last time because he wasn't that big. we'll see if i have the same self control if i see him again.Daughters home sick and we're waiting for the wu-flu results. Regardless, I probably won't be heading north this weekend and may head out to Carlos Avery for a local, public land hunt. If she does have the shanghai shivers, I'll have to be quarantined for 14 days as well. My thinking is what better way to quarantine than in the woods hunting every day.
as an aside- i've throught spike bucks = 1 year old = no forking. is it possible this velvet fork horn was a 1.5-2 yo? or can they actually get some points on first growth sometimes? or do forks/ additional tines only appear year 2 or later?
edit: did some googling. he's 1.5. now the great debate (if i see him again) let him walk or no? i hope to be forced into that decision ASAP.
