Team 2 Thread

When you’ve hunted all weekend, and kept getting so close to a shot, but not quite. And now it’s Monday and you are supposed to be working but you are thinking about your next hunt.

Our season finally starts this Friday, but looks like I won’t be able to get away until next weekend. Excited to get things started though.

Same. I'm replaying every sighting in my head, 2nd guessing every shot I didn't take and game planning where I'll setup next.

Wirrex that’s a serious deer stand.. you definitely have to update us on the progress.. my buddy shot a decent 10 point Saturday night.. I didn’t make it out at all.. sitting here patiently waiting for my 4 daylights to be done so I can get into the woods. My cameras have been pretty dead the last week or so..

i promised the wife that i'd take this weekend off and go again next weekend, looking foward to hearing about your upcoming hunt, i don't have any cameras but hoping the deer i saw saturday visits the same scrape 2 weeks later...

I’m having a tough time just getting to the woods. Honestly my heart just isn’t in it this year. I’ll still put some points on the board but I’m not forwarding my mail to the woods this year either.
@Wirrex thats a heck of a preset. No need to miss any rut action during the holidays. Just have the family on up for thanksgiving.

I was like that last year. “Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don’t”

Gun season is always a family affair for us. Now that my boys are showing interest I figured I’ll ease them into it with this tower stand.

Just found out the power utility is slow crawling through the land I hunt working the power lines. I'm pissed and may need to find some public land as a backup.

Up for the evening. This is the same spot I hit that doe 10 days ago. Hoping something comes through tonight.

Will be out tomorrow! Haven’t been able to get out like I normally due but I’m out of steaks and need redemption for sending one way high last Friday! I have a 3 pin sight housing on its way  FYI black gold sells them just got to call

Replaying the last 2 weekends, I've realized that I've been mesmerized by bow hunting. Being a gun hunter, a deer popping out at 50-100 yards is a quick shoot-n-kill. The first weekend this year, I had several out of range or out of position and I didn't care, I just enjoyed watching them. Last weekend, the carefree fawn playing in the creek 10 yards from me was fun to watch. I know I rushed the shot on the doe I missed and the next morning just watched another walk by at 30 yards, never even going for my bow.

My son is running a marathon this weekend so I've got a 10 days until I can get out again. Not that I haven't been hunting so far but now it's time to get down to business.

Work week is dragging calling for a East wind Friday morning. That sets up good for my house and a south wind in evening that sets up perfect for a replant bean field that is the only one that is green on one farm I hunt… can’t wait to get in a tree.
MSbowhunter48 I think I saw in some posts you have a dryad what’s your thoughts on that? I currently have a large recon and a method 2xl the dryad has been peeking my Interest.

Nothing for me tonight. Next I’ll be out is Saturday. Not sure where I’ll be exactly, but I’m sure I’ll be bouncing around a bit.

Bow hunting definitely adds another aspect and challenge to the hunt, but that’s what makes it fun. It gets harder and harder for me to pick up my gun every year.

I dunno. I've got 2-3 more weekend hunts until gun opener. If I haven't gotten one with the bow by then, I'm switching in a heartbeat. As soon as the first one is down though, I'm sticking with the bow until the close of season.

Where do you gun hunt at? I have a firearm tag for the first time in a number of years. I have to pick up an online muzzleloader too. As of now, I don’t even have a gun to use down here!

Zone 213, about 7 miles south of the gun line which puts me in the shotgun area. Worse come to worse, I'll swap my tag for $5, get the guarantee then try and fill my bonus tags with arrows.
