Team 2 BB - Bambi Blasters

Can you get in there down wind? I wouldn't wait.. pressure will be coming when everyone else gets out there. I would say if the wind is right, and you can get in there with out blowing over the area go for it. This a public land buck? I would say if it's on public strike while the iron is hot. Did you get two buck tags?

Wind is typically in the wrong direction. I have got within about 20 yards of two deer very close to there though. Maybe I'll try that Saturday evening or Sunday morning, I need to scope out a tree before I go in in the dark.

Thanks for your team 2 wisdom

Oh and mattman I do have 2 buck tags. Kinda hoping to fill the restricted first but that's an awful lofty goal for my first time

I'm not the best of hunters by any means. But if you got bucks frequenting an area, doesn't seem like it takes much to shift them. Don't be afraid to stay on the ground either. I learned that lesson last year. I watched a nice buck go by twice to far out. Same pattern. The second morning I walked by a group of trees and thought I should sit right in there. He walked right by there again. I went back to the same tree and he did the same thing. Don't over think it. Be ready if you have an idea when they are gonna be going thru. Your window may be small.

Eh, I wouldn't say pattern, yet. There are bucks in there, increasingly. I expect that they'll be there through the season but I can't say for sure yet

I seen what looked like a hunter on that cam today... Zero people in the last year until the last 7 days.

Oh well! Good thing I have more spots!!! Still pumped!

Ok, asking here first. Might ask the forum more generally too.

I got another buck this evening in that same spot I've posted a few pics in this thread, possible the 8ish from earlier. That's my top spot. Difficult in some ways ( small, gotta get it done) , cake walk in others ( easy as access as I'll get).

Had eyes on it for nearly a year, always can find deer, turkey sign in the area.

When do I try that spot? Remember I'm a rookie, have several other spots. I feel like I want to experience a few shots, hopefully successful first. But... If it's a small window to get one, I want my dividends too. I've put some work in, time for some rewards!!
If the wind is right hunt it. If not, don’t. Think of going in the deer woods as education. Every time you go in the woods you’re educating them. Your scent, when you show up, etc. it sux and the temptation is there but bite the bullet and exercise discipline.

Looks like my opening day tomorrow is going to be a wash out. I was thinking of going anyway but now they are calling for 20 mile an hour winds. Guess I'll play it by ear. I'm getting jealous of you guys that are already out there.

Hopefully your forecast changes! Doesn't sound very good. Depending on where i look the wind looks favorable in 2 top spots, 9mph. 40/68 and sunny. I'm going out

We need a name for our team this year. Any ideas? Get us fired up or make us laugh. I'm good either way.

Maybe dreamers or day dreamers? I'm good with dream team
