Team 3 Rules

I saw a spike on my way to my afternoon sit. And when I got to my location… I got attacked by 3 river otters! What a day!

sorry to disappoint guys but I whiffed on what would have been my biggest archery buck last evening. Very disappointed and trying to figure out where I went wrong. I took a cross bridge shot at about my 3 o'clock when I should have spun around for a drop shot. I thought I was going to have him at 1 o'clock but I fumbled with my release and wasn't able to shoot until he was at my 3. So I think my bridge may have affected my posture.

Been a very frustrating season for me so far. Good news is he didn't see me and gently wandered off after calming down. So maybe he is still around.

Go get em fellas!
A few quick hunts, this week.
I’m consistently disappointed by what should be the pre rut in NH, compared to other states I’ve hunted.
returned to a spot in gusty conditions, nothing. had high expectations and should have kept scouting for rut sign.
first snow flurries Monday morning .
I’ll be getting out as much as I can around work -speedy scout scout hunts.
I’m almost out of vacation and need to be better about reserving it for this time of year.

have a couple bucks on cam on border of my property, I’m going to get aggressive scouting next swirly or rainy day.

I’ve been there . get back out and I bet you kill a stud.
I’ll loan you a stickbow if you really want to up your frustration level. (Wink)

Deer in New England are well educated and remain cautious year round - except for Randy bucks in November.

I’ve been getting out for a number of evening sits and the occasional morning sit. I’ve been hearing deer in the morning and seeing them in the evening. The ground has been so darn dry and loud, making sneaking in the dark very challenging. I saw a spike horns 2 days in a row. It’s just a matter of time now…

November is here, time to make moves!

Had an action packed first two hours this AM. Saw between 5 and 8 bucks, chasing, thrashing trees, grunting, the whole 9. One shooter 8 but he stayed out 75 yds.

Gonna sit tight until 1 or 2. All the action was out front, and rare consistent wind, nothing smelled me. I wasn't gonna hunt this evening, need to save dad points, pack for camp, and butcher my bear. But given the circumstances may have to call a dark to dark audible. Hmmm.

We are leaving for Ohio public land trip tomorrow after church, gonna hunt Monday through Friday Lord Willing! Drove up yesterday to scout, logged just over 7 miles and found some fantastic rut activity, saw two bucks and a few doe, hopefully we can catch up with a mature buck!

Very cool buck! Congrats.

I did an all day hunt yesterday as it was the onset of a cold front. In the am I say a honey hole and conditions were ideal. By mid day the winds picked up and started swirling so I had to back out. I came up with a plan B. Well the winds there also got swirly as heck and I heard numerous deer blowing over the course of the evening. When I got out of the woods I heard numerous stories from buddies of chasing activity and one buddy who capitalized and made a harvest. The rut is on!

Conditions here today are ideal and it’s killing me not to be in the woods, but commitments are always there. Monday I’ll be back at it and hope to be at it all of next week.

Well, I'm a day and a half into my bowcation and it's been a cluster. Hopefully this evening is pleasant. I'm headed to SD tomorrow. Might get lucky and get a saddle kill there but it'll probably be spot and stalk.

Sat this morning in a good spot but the winds were light in all directions it felt like, had a mean ol doe blow at me very close to legal. I could only see her flag , a bit closer to sunrise two deer moved along about 50 - 75 yards.

Think I’ll hit the woods tomorrow afternoon.

Enjoy. after alot of stand time , I love a good spot and stalk or snow hunt

Well I had a great sit this PM. Passed three bucks, shot two does. One I'm not going to recover. Set up on a triple trunked maple and was covered up in deer all evening. On to SD.

No points but kid had his final baseball game of fall ball and it went long so time was short. He has no attention span so perfect time for him to sit with me. We jumped two does under stand on the way in but one returned about a half hour later. Kid was working on convincing me to shoot the doe when I caught glimpse of antler working a scrape. Took him a good 15 minutes of eating acorns to finally clear and give a good shot. It’s my first kill with kid with me so it’s kind of special for a not so special buck. I didn’t even have time to change and kid still has eye black on from the game.
