Team 3 Thread

Ha! Ha! Noooo, that’s Arkansas. You should see the video, that’s just a screen grab. Sounds like rain coming through the woods….then they all come to a stop and stand motionless and listen for 15 seconds while everything is silent, then they move another 40 yds, rinse and repeat. Then 30 min later, these two little ones smaller than a loaf of bread come trailing behind. So small they tripping over the leaves lol.

Hoping to add a few points on an upgrade for my buck. My managed hunt starts today and goes til January 15th with 3 deer allowed!

One-sticking calls them in!
This is true. Last year I was about halfway up a tree and a 2.5 year old came right in staring through me.... all I could do was stand on my stick motionless.... all of he sudden he lunged right by my tree and ran about 15 yards and just stopped, looked around for about 30 seconds and did the tail flick and moved on. I swear that buck heard my stick scraping and he thought it was another buck making a rub or something.

Managed hunt turned out to be my best hunt ever! Shot the biggest buck of my life! 14 pointer! Was on stand for 15 minutes and shot him at 7 yards. Dropped dead across the creek 25 yards from where I shot him

Awesome!
It's been a tough year for me. Wife was diagnosed with breast cancer again. I am blessed as she made me go to my Iowa hunt. I did have to fly back for her first consultation. Iowa was the greatest whitetail hunt I have ever been on. I passed on a couple 8 pointers I would of shot in any other state. I blew it on a wide 10pt dark rack that I saw crossing the road. I threw on my ghillie suit and got to within 15 yards. Either my movement or the sound of the safety did me in. I had more buck encounters in those 9 days than I have had in 9 years (probably an exaggeration...lol). Any way I'm not done yet, we finally got a surgery date for Jan. 4th. I am going to hunt Ohio with my son Dec. 26-31. Hopefully I can contribute to Team 3.

My prayers are with you and you family! Family means more than anything. Good luck with your son.

Daaaaayuuuuum! If that’s a “managed” hunt, I definitely want to come for the regular hunt! Congrats!

My God, what a stud!

And I was giddy about my freezer queen this evening!

I had a pretty insane night for a late season post rut hunt. Hunted my wheat fields since I've been holding off from putting the cows on it. Glassed a few does and a small buck form 1200+ yards away last week while feeding the cattle.

Watched 7 different bucks and 13 does feed nearly an hour. The big 10 I've been after all season walked by at 38 yards, he was rutted out and thin. I made the conscious (probably stupid) decision to let him go. He's lasted through rifle season, two encounters with myself and being shot by myself as well Nov. 3rd. He .as be something g really special next year, or not who knows.

About 20 minutes before legal ending, three does walked by at 20 yards and I drilled the lead. She snow plowed 60 yards and piled up.
All the other deer in the field just watched her like,"Damn, Irene just died. Oh well."
