Hey guys it is Oklahoma youth hunt weekend. I have been hanging out with my youngest in a pine tree. This is my 3rd year saddle hunting and my first season In a JX3. This thing hands down is Awesome for a fat guy. I am about 250 and 5ft 9in. It has taken the need for a platform away..... This was started while in the tree.

Since then the night has gotten better and better. My 8 year old daughter killed her first deer ever and it was out of a saddle and it was a buck. She killed a nice small 8pt. Then I find out from a phone call that my 15 yr old son just killed his target buck he has been chasing for 2 seasons. He killed a 13 pt and the other twin I went to pick him up from where he hunted and he had killed his 3rd doe out of a saddle.

We are close to the lead! Lets get some more points on the board!! I'm trying to get a doe in the coming weeks for another 5 points!
 
I’ve got 70 days of season left. I have two gun hunts in prime spots that I feel pretty good about. And bow hunting the rut on 3-4 really good properties. I’ve got at least 10-12 hunts ahead. Maybe more if things fall into place. I hope to give us a late boost!
 
Same here! Hoping to hit the second rut, and going to go after some does late season.

Progress report from everyone?!

I should have 4-8 days left to hunt. We’re so close come on boys! Who has a realistic chance to close out with another ?
 
Season goes through Feb. here in Arkansas, so I’ll be out some more. Usually spend quite a bit of time in January filling the freezer with doe meat. I’ll be helping my son (turning 9 years old on Sunday) try to get his first bow kill this year though, so that might slow things down a bit, but it’ll be totally worth it if he can connect!

I’m going to do my best to get some more point on the board. Tracked down some bucks in a couple new spots earlier this week as well, so I’ll try to get back on them if I can.

Can’t promise anything, except that I’ll be out there trying every chance I get!

Well I can't add any points with this one but he was a pretty good FL public anyhow.
And a moccasin in December only in FL Swamp.

You Florida hunters are wild!! I lived there for a couple years when I was in school and couldn't even imagine deer hunting down there. Such different terrain and climate.. Not even to mention the snakes and gators!
 
I'm going out tomorrow for the last time of the year. I have a good possibility of getting a doe. Hoping to get it done! We are so close to the lead again!
 
Hoping to put us 5 more on the board guys. It is closing day for Oklahoma holiday doe.

I went and poked the team 8's hornet nest, and ole @Nutterbuster responded with killing an ole swamp donkey.

We got our work cut out for us. We probably need 20 points to win. Eat your Wheaties, call in favors, call in sick, prepare divorce papers, do what you gotta do!
