Team 4

What are the deer numbers like up there @MJH ? I would imagine just seeing a deer up there is an accomplishment.

The southern part of the province resembles southern Michigan lets say. Farms and bush lots. The deer numbers down there are quite a lot higher, and it isn't hard to get on them. They are still lower than what you are describing however. In the north, it is a whole different story. Deer numbers generally are down as a result of some hard winters, and increasing wolf and bear numbers, but there are still plenty of animals in the woods. The issue in a lot of cases is predicting their movements which really hard. I hunt near Algonquin park and the area is a nearly endless stretch of big woods. I have gone a full week and seen nothing except the inside of my book...

The simple answer is that if you were looking for a destination deer hunt, Ontario probably wouldn't be it. With that said, the province is almost as big as Alaska and is ~87% public land. What we lack in deer numbers is more than made up for in other opportunities.

I'll be hunting my first season in South Central Wisconsin. I'll probably do a little hunting in South Alabama this year for their rut, it's in February.

I'm hunting around my home in Mass.
I have a 9 day trip to Ohio Bowhunting, and a 4 day late season muzzleloader.
a 6 day rifle hunt in Northern Maine and I usually get in a late muzzleloader in Maine too.
