Ha as I just started walking into the woods I seen a deer laying there 25 yards from me watching the walking path from his bed looked like maybe
a doe or button buck
Got standing corn on one side of the woods and beans on the other side should be a good night

Well finally had the energy to get myself up this morning when I went out to my favorite public land I noticed a hunting buddies truck sitting there didn’t put much thought into it for some reason but after my hunt on my way out there was cops and game wardens on side of the road he was found laying on the trail just off the road my guess is that he passed away while walking back to his truck last night. The point is always let someone know where you are going you never know when it’s your time

That is terrible news.

OK pre-trip report.
Friday night we hit the road heading up to Hearst Ont, and then fly into the bush Sat. Hearst is at red dropped pin, which is about 1100km from my place. The red X kind of in the area we are going - I'm going to refrain from zooming in too much under the presumption you are all going to hijack my spot!! We are then setup for a week, hoping we can pick up on some moose activity. I drew the bull tag this year, now all I have to do is see it through...

The spot is in a large lowland without much elevation change at all. There are no tree stands, cut lanes, roads, trails or luxuries of any kind, just Mother Nature. My mind is spinning right now considering all the stuff I may have forgotten to pack, and all the useless crap that I have packed. Anticipation really makes your mind move. Best part is that the weather report looks unfavourable!

Anyhow I will post some photos and a trip report when I get back.

OK I am back from my moose hunting trip. I will write something with photos etc soon, but for the time being I am drying out gear, washing and prepping my deer hunting stuff. To make a long story short, we cold camped for the week and it rained every single day - we toughed it out and had an amazing encounter but came home empty handed...

Now back to deer...

Sounds like a heck of an adventure.

Sorry guys but no luck for me opening weekend. Not much moving in my area. Only saw 1 small doe in 3 1/2 days. Still early and this old bird is not giving up!

Gonna have to count this one as a loss walked up and down the corn rows up through the hedgerow still no blood to be found

Opening day today in MA. Snuck out of work early and sat at the edge of a swamp. I was hoping for more of an observation stand. I pulled up early as i found alot of trails and beds. No buck sign, should of kept going. No mammals seen.
