Team 4

Guys I have failed pretty miserably. I’ve blown opportunities at 1 doe and 5 bucks in the last two weeks. I missed the doe, missed a nice 8 and a six, and got busted by a decent 8, an old 130s 8, and a monster mid 150s 10. This is my first year in Wisconsin, and I feel cursed. I had encounters with two mature bucks this morning, one at 25 yd and one at less than 10, and have nothing to show for it. Nothing to do now but keep at it!

**** happens. Keep on pushing.

Guys I just got back from my rifle hunt up north. I gave it everything I had, but those woods are just so big. I hiked miles, searched all the pockets that i know about there and found no sign I was willing to sit on. My buddy found a single scrape on the other side of the lake which he hunted over, but I got nothing.

I found a lot of moose sign, and one area with a string concentration of deer droppings, but no rubs, scrapes or heavy travel tracks.

The forest was super dry up there. Frankly I have never seen it that dry in Nov.

Rutcation!!

Well I have stuggled as well with hot weather an super high wind also blew some opportunities so I'm not complaining but im still trying. I'm in the saddle now

Just a little bragging on the 7 year for his first deer kill!!

It was shot from a box but I might have to get this kid a saddle for Christmas!

(The eye injury was from fighting or a limb; he didn’t shoot it in the head)

This is freaking awesome.

I think this should get onto the submission thread as a honorary team 4 kill. No saddle - who cares keeping a little guy like that quiet enough to bring down that stud is a whole different ball game.

I'm still jacked and can't believe he shot it! I'll post it in the submission thread. Team 4 still gets some bragging rights!

Had an 8pt walk up behind me and the doe he was following started blowing.

What kind of temps are you hunting down there right now?
It was high 20's yesterday morning. Warmed up to mid 50's by noon.

Supposed to be low 30's this weekend. I'm ready to get back out there!!

Really, below freezing in Louisiana! Cool. I figured you were still hunting in T-shirts.

I really need to get back down to Louisiana. It has been way too long.

Come on down! We’ve got lots of pigs up in the north part of the state.

I usually see them rifle hunting at the camp with my sons; although it’s been nothing but deer this year.

Low 30’s morning in Louisiana on public land. Should’ve brought the rifle and I could’ve left with one.

I did find some good deer sign; probably will be a few weeks before I can get back out there.
