Thanks everyone, was a good way to get the season going. Had some Heart fajitas last night to celebrate. Probably won’t be out again until late October, gonna need to get some kind of sled before then cause that half mile drag was brutal Saturday night.

It's been a rough go my first 4 sits. The hunting pressure on my current spot is ridiculous. between the bear hunters, small game hunters and waterfowl hunters I cant go a single hunt where dogs aren't running through the woods, shot guns ringing out and the occasional rifle shots. Bear Season goes till October 11th then some of that pressure should drop off. I almost forgot about the good Ol boys and their trucks with no exhaust that like to drive the logging roads and rev their trucks when they see your vehicle while throwing beer cans out the windows and yes this happened last night with about 45 mins of hunting light left. You got to love public land and the respect fellow hunters show each other lol. I will be scouting some new locations the next few weeks to try and put some more space between me and them. This is a challenge where I am hunting because the land is owned by a paper company so there are logging roads everywhere. It is impossible to get far enough away from all vehicle traffic and other hunters. I can see why some guys don't start hunting till mid-late October.
On a positive note we got the youth gun season coming up next weekend. I'm going to get my 12 YO daughter out for her first gun deer hunt. Hopefully I can get her on her first deer.
