Team 4

Was able to get out Wednesday afternoon for a quick evening hunt but believe I was about 20 mins too late. Went to an area I’ve had 4 bucks running together on camera, but as I was at the base of my tree one of the smallest of the 4 bucks came in and ended up getting spooked and blew at me. Not sure if the others were behind him or not. Gonna try to get out again here in the next few days.

Got out yesterday for most of the day. Saw a few does and bumped a buck out of his bed. Wanted to get back in there this morning to go after him but just don’t have the time too with other things going on. May get in there tomorrow but he was close to one of the access points and I’m worried about how crowded it may be on a Saturday.

That road ends just before the creek and it’s just a foot traffic logging road after that. You can come in from the south side too it’s just a mile walk or so. He was bedded about 15 yards into that pine thicket in the first picture and where I’m at there’s a cluster of trees all rubbed up and a scrape. He seems to be using it a good bit and I saw a few bucks in that same spot post season scouting back in February. I’m pretty sure I’d have to get in ridiculously early because I’m assuming he’s using that spot to monitor access. So I bet he’s bedded up pretty early in the am. Thinking about giving it a shot but not sure yet.

First year in a saddle and one stick.. got 2 button buck this morning..only had the morning to hunt.. I thought it was going to be a waste.. i thought i was getting in a tree I got in a few weeks ago but i was 20yds from that, the tree was smaller which would be fine but at hunting height it rocked more than I liked and was angled so I had to use the side of the platform the wole sit, I also had a tree branch against my leg and it blocked any shot to my left. I had a buck follow my trail to the tree within 10 min. After i was set up and the limb moved and made him run off a bit. Luckly i brought my buck 360 multi tool and cut the lib off at first light.. 40 min later 3 deer (I thought were does) came in to 17yds the first one that gave me a broadside shot I took it.. I pulled the shot a bit but knew it was hit and it walked about 6yds and stood there. The other 2 just stood there so i loaded another arrow and waited to see if id get a shot at another. Sure enough the bigger one walked right out and i hit it in the shoulder and it mule kicked ran 30yds hit a tree and fell over.. I put a second arrow in the first one to finish it off..

Congratulations buddy. Way to fill the freezer and get some points on the board.

Made it out this morning. It's a cool 31 degrees. It's supposed to be a high of mid sixties today. Decided to sit the blind this morning and if I strike out will be hunting another location from the saddle this evening. Good luck if you are making it out today and stay safe.

The spot I had planned to go to this evening had a truck parked there so I had to make a last minute decision. Hunting a two year old clear cut edge. Lots of sign. Got up in the tree and looked to my left to find a ladder stand someone drug back here. Lol I ain't moving.

It was a cool 57 this morning in Georgia. Saw a doe bedded up before first light and nothing on the sit by the buck bed. This guy rolled through 20 minutes before first light headed to where I sat last weekend. Made the wrong move but that’s the way it goes. Hopefully he’s still around in a few weeks when this place opens back up. Did some scouting and found some good stuff, hopefully I can put it together in one more sit since that’s all I’m probably going to get out there.

Maybe I’m a jerk but I feel like on public land someone hanging a stand there doesn’t make it there spot. Ik it sucks but I don’t see how that means someone has the rights to hunt there over top of me.

I agree 100%. Public is open to anyone at anytime. If someone was in the stand I would of hoped they would let me know before I got to the top and I would of course move on. Sunday I'll be at my number one pick an hour - hour and a half before light. Knowing someone else is hunting that area I want to make sure I am first in and I hope they give me the same curtesy I gave them last weekend.

Took a doe yesterday from the blind. It was 19 degrees yesterday morning and I didn't feel like freezing my balls off in a tree, plus I had intel the deer were coming through here. Had the Mr. Buddy heater blasting, I was pretty darn comfy. I needed to put some meat in the freezer before the orange army pummels the land next week.

Two does came in from the right headed to my left then turned back and this one gave me a quartering shot at 18 yards. I believe she may have heard the heater as she was staring at the blind for a few minutes before coming back around, the wind was in my face so I know she wasn't smelling me. She ran 20 yards and piled up.

Sorry I could contribute to points on this one, but meat in the freezer was more important on this hunt. Ill be out for the 9 day rifle season and will have a few saddle sits. hopefully I will be able to get some points then.

Shot a young boy Saturday. Been trying to get on an 8pt in the same area but getting in the woods has been tough and this little pecker kept chasing my does away. But points on the board. Gonna use my saddle during rifle season this year I think so hopefully I'll get a better buck and a fat doe by the end of Jan.
