Team 5!

Just throwing it out there...I’m trying to build the list on the grams. Give me a follow @zurr4013 and I will follow back.
Good luck and Go Buckeyes

Kicked up a buck this evening and had a stare down for about five seconds... I’m looking through my scope and he was under a nasty old apple tree and I couldn’t make out how big he was so I was hesitant to pull the trigger. Boy do I regret my decision.... he was a beautiful 8 that I’ve had on camera a handful of times this season.. didn’t know it until he bolted! I’m hoping to find him near this same ridge tomorrow evening.

Good Luck! Hopefully he didn't bolt far.

I'm headed out here in about an hour for some hopefully late season "brown and down" action. I've got a local doe tag burning a hole in my pocket. Somehow my alarm clock gained an hour over the night and I didn't figure it out until I was in the truck heading out. Turned around and now I'm killing time until it's really time to leave.

Out for a post xmas sit on the break between a cedar swamp and an old cut. Sat about a 1/4 mile north of here this morning with no luck. There was some crossing through here though so hopefully they come back through this evening.

My season ended this past Tuesday in NY. I’m already counting the days down until bow season 2021  Also looking forward to spring turkey hunting come May.

I’m gonna do some post season scouting tomorrow! It’s never too early to start planning for next year.

It was a pleasure chasing tail with Team 5 this year. To those of you still out there, best of luck!

Man, it's a cold one this morning. The truck thermometer said 13F and there's a pretty steady breeze from the south. My glasses are actually fogging and freezing. To top it off I had three does go by at 50 yards 2 minutes after stepping on my platform. I was stuck there for 20 minutes in just my vest and sweatshirts . . . Brrrrr.

Brrr indeed! Good luck out there today!

Well guys, I hope it doesn't come back to cost us but I passed up two separate gimmes on does this morning. The first was at 10yds and the second at 15yds. Both had a pair of small yearlings with them and I'm not hungry enough to take that shot this year. I've always set a goal for myself when entering this contest not to let it push me to take shots I wouldn't ordinarily and today tested that resolve some but in the end I'm just happy I was able to put myself in a good position this morning. Hopefully our score holds up but if we lose by less than 5, I apologize.

Good call.

Sorry Team 5 - for being so silent during the contest. It was slow going early season and I struggled to get as many sits as I would have liked locally. I managed to get a good amount of time in the woods during the rut & late season in Ohio.
I had a bunch of good encounters and passed on a few young bucks, but wasn't able to pull it together to put points on the board this season. Time to get a jump on some postseason scouting for the next one. Congrats to everyone on the team that made it happen!

I feel your pain, other than the one I managed to take, I only had one other encounter with a deer (ironically with the same buck) within range that I considered a shooter all season. It certainly wasn't from lack of trying, my log book says I logged 83 sits this year. I just struggled to narrow it down this year. I did manage to keep having fun and never got frustrated with my lack of success (a problem I've struggled with in the past) so I have to chalk it up as a good season. I also enjoyed sharing it with you guys. Hopefully our score can hold up for two more weeks.

Yeah Im with you guys, no big bucks but a full freezer & a bunch of great memories this season! I’ve definitely had a great time with y’all. I’m still sitting on a buck tag until 1/31......

It's official guys, we took the top slot for the 2020 contest. Congratulations! You guys killed some awesome deer this year! I really enjoyed sharing your successes and hunting with you guys this year, well virtually anyway!

Congrats everyone! It was a pleasure to be on your team this year and to share your success! I hope the new year treats everyone well and I can’t wait to be in the woods again. Spring Turkey can’t come soon enough.
