Team 6 Thread

So, I'm not trying to be nosey just trying to get a true understanding of all associated costs. If I went with a Reveal X, besides the cost of the camera, what do the plans cost? Do they provide volume discounts if you buy two cameras or is each camera a separate plan cost?

No, but another guy in the area has gotten him on cam twice. 1 week of the season left. I'll be out on the 29th
Ugh! I hope you can get him. Did he move to a different area? We've gotten so much snow and its been so cold here over the last two weeks I'm interested to check my cams to see if its impacted deer movement. Keep us posted hopefully you can get some last minutes points on the board for us.

My cam to this guys cam can't be more than 500 yards away. That guy isn't sharing all his info with me and I don't blame him. I haven't even let him know that I've seen the deer or have pics lol but he's basically just on the other side of the road. Feeling like the deer that blew at me on the last hunt was that buck and that's why he hasn't returned but I also got 4 coyotes on cam the other night so that could be it as well. Who knows. I have one camera on the other side of the road where this guy hunts but it's a few hundred yards farther away and I haven't gotten any pics of this buck. I'm racking my brain trying to figure out if I should just wing it on my last hunt or go back to the same spot hoping he makes an appearance. Looks like we could also get some snow overnight Friday into Saturday so I could have fresh sign to hunt. I'm perfectly fine with not shooting this deer this year but I just really hope he makes it another year if I don't. I've never had so much history with a buck, plus having to pass him the first morning I hunted this year, it'd be really awesome to get after him next year. Especially imagining the size he'd end up. I believe he's 3.5 this year and has to be a 130" 7 point. He has a brow broken and a tiny point that didn't grow much this year that would put him at a 9 but I'd think he adds on to that even next year. We'll see, I'll keep you guys posted on my plans for Saturday and how it unfolds.

Unlimited photos is $13 per month for me right now. I believe every camera you buy it is $1 cheaper per month. So the second cam would be $12 / month.

What do you mean "Still holding both sides?"
He hasn't shed yet. Only thing is he came in from the S this morning. Wind straight to his nose, and headed out in the direction he normally he approaches. His winter pattern is certainly different. We're supposed to have 20+ mph NW winds Saturday with strong gusts. Gonna be racking my brain all week deciding how to throw one more hail mary after him

I've got a ton of deer found, and need to fill 2 more doe tags before season is up, but currently quarantined to the house... me and the kids are fine, and shes on day 5 and feeling better today. Hopefully that means I'll be able to slip out in the next evening or two. Deer are pounding hayfields, food plots, privet hedges, anything semi green right now.

II should have understood that.... duh!!! I'm all fixated on your hunting strategy!!!

So he's heading out to feed the way he normally heads back to bed?

No. He seems to be heading to bed the opposite direction that he was before. Before he was heading from the W and N to the E. This morning he came from the S and was heading W. Which means he should be feeding in a different location but that location would be the opposite direction of where I know the other guy hunting has gotten pics of him. Honestly, he just doesn't seem to have a pattern right now. The only thing that still is consistent is getting pics of him on wind with N in it but of course that's the majority of the time this time of year. My gut is telling me to just hunt the same general area that I have the history and worst case I have a decent chance of shooting a doe to wrap up the season but my brain has me scouring over the maps to jump into a spot I haven't been in and hoping he's there and worst case learning something new about the property

I would think if he's still bedding in that same general area that's the best set up you can hope for but is there some kind of an elevation change or pinch that he has to go through no matter what direction he goes to feed or returns to bedding? Set up there or maybe go in later in the morning and have someone walk that path he's always watching and nudge him to you somehow???

The way he went this morning he wouldn't be watching that same path. It seems I'm in his core but it's anybody's guess which way he will go on any given day right now. I'm missing some piece of the puzzle and I'm going to do everything I can to figure that out this offseason. We'll see if he pops up anymore between now and Friday. Right now, I feel like being in the area he was this morning is my best bet. If he doesn't show anymore between now and Saturday I'll be second guessing that more but it's likely where I'll end up.

I'm hunting vicariously through you..... you know that right???

Haha I do. I do the same throughout the season whenever I go through stretches of not being able to get out.

Well he has not been back. Meanwhile I've had a ton of activity on another cam including a really nice buck. Additionally, sounds like the other guy I've been worried about shooting him is probably done for the year. Single digit real feel in the AM with 20mph winds. Should also be a fresh batch of snow on the ground. I haven't hunted where the other camera is before but think I might give that spot a try and gain some intel I can use next year. Easy walk with a perfect wind for how the deer come back in the morning. Who knows, might be a coin flip in the AM
