That would be the best of the worst bragging board for sure.We should start a second team that gets points for all the deer we don't recover/shoot without a saddle. We'd have to be in the lead

Like it. LolThat would be the best of the worst bragging board for sure.
Sounds like you should be able to get one to make a mistake as things get crazy in the next couple of weeks. I haven't been out in far too long but that's about to change. I'll be out this Saturday and then I'll take some time off of work in the 2 weeks following that. Hopefully I can get some meat in the freezerI have come so close twice on some really nice shooter bucks this past week. I just can’t seem to get them in close enough. I am hunting a small property at my dads surrounded by posted property. Hunting the outer most corner of his 7 acres. I watch deer running around 60-100 yards off all day. Last Saturday I watched 7 doe come out 2 hours before sunset followed by a dream of an 11 point (one of three I am after, an 8 and a 12 are the others) which was followed by 7 more doe from another direction. I called a few times and rattled and when I bleated he would look over in my direction, look back at his 14 does and go back to strutting around. Closest he got was 60 yards but needs to get to 30 to be on the property I can shoot on.... one of these days he will slip up.
today I got home from work a little later and didn’t plan to hunt and was running the dog in the yard. A beautiful 8 point walked thru my lower field, crossed the creek and walked my fence line. I ran back to the house and put the dog away and tossed my camo on and grabbed my bow as I watched him walk into the woods at the end of my fence line about 200 yards from the house. Terrible wind but I stood down there wind to my back by the fence for the last hour of light hoping he would come back out and never did. A few doe and a 6 point walked around me at 40 yards though so at least I saw something.
I hope you all are getting out and seeing some deer as well!
Praying for you!Dear Saddle hunters Hellow Im Angie Silvios wife. Silvio wanted me to send this message to you all. Silvio had a very bad Heart attack while hunting yesterday. Hes in recovery right now so we are past the hard part...A rescue team got him out a remote area and saved his life..he is a non drinker/smoker which helped him stay consous and endure the heart attack. Silvio's main artery was 100% blocked and they put a stint in but he needs two more. Please pray for him right now he needs your prayers
Thank you all
Thank you Woodsdog@Silvio Glad to hear from you directly and I certainly look forward to your guidance. Praise God for his blessings on you and remember my friend in the book of James, Chapter 1 vs. 2-4 : 2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3for you know that testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Keep in mind, there is more bucks shot in October this week then any other. Why? Scrapes become more active during the day by bucks and does...also it's not about seeing lots of deer this week...its about who's out leaving there calling card on those scrapes...many mature bucks I've harvested over the years either came into a scrape or scent checked it from a distance. Many times a buck will travel his core area checking for doe scent. Peak morning and evening movements are triggered by feeding whereas daytime/midday buck movements have to do with territory breeding markersI have come so close twice on some really nice shooter bucks this past week. Yes, I love the Men/women in blue...the firefighters are my true heros but God gave them the power and grace to save me. I shouldn't be here. But God has a plan for me. Just waiting for the holy spirit to tell how he will use me. Praise be to GodContinuing with prayers for you and your family as well @Silvio. Praising God for his blessings of your life and that you are on the mend. Thankful for the EMT's and rescue personnel that helped you, may God Bless them as well.

Make sure you draw first upright like you would on the ground, then move at your waist or position your feet for the shot. This is where a peep or kisser button will help but if you just draw first then get in position to actually shoot you will have more consistency over time. A lot of people align their sigh on the deer and then draw and this can change your point of impact. Draw first and get aligned then bend/align to the deer keeping that upper angle the same. Does that make sense????Does anyone have any tips on shooting out of their saddles? This is my first year in the saddle and I missed a doe last weekend because i wasnt in a comfortable position. Shot was at 3 oclock. I had never practiced shooting with my body twisted like that.@Beeyuu just need more practice. I don't have a tree in my yard so I spent time tethering in to my deck post lol. Where was your shot? Off to your strong side at 9 o'clock? Drop shot at 6? Weak side at 3? It takes a bit to learn how to maneuver around and how to use your feet to help you with that. Trusting your gear helps a lot too. Lean into your saddle and let it help you with support
Yup, gonna be your most difficult shot. Gotta either pivot around, lean into your saddle, and use your right foot up on the tree to steady yourself, or spin so that your tether is going up the front of you and over your shoulder to hold you in placeShot was at 3 oclock.
