Team 6

FINALLY shucked that monkey that has been riding me all season. Took the compound out since I was hunting in light rain/heavy drizzle. 3y/o 8 point posed for me at 12 steps. First time in at least 15 years I have intentionally shot a buck under 4 but I was not going to pass a legal deer the way this year has gone. Went 60 and stirred the gravy.

Congrats buddy!

I’m running out of days here. Glad I hunted hard early and got some does in the freezer. I’ll have a few more sits (I hope) to try to get a buck and upgrade for the team and get my first buck with a bow. Damn job has been getting in the way lately and now I’ve got some out of town Christmas things on the horizon. I’m too stubborn to give up until the final buzzer though so I guess you never know. Somewhat regretting passing on a few this season, even the 11 pointer lol.

I hear ya. I still need at least one more for the freezer and 2 would be better. Gotta stay focused and keep grinding.

This hasn’t been a good year with things going on only killed a spike and a small doe during the gun seasons but looking to get out this Friday and Christmas day to saddle hunt hopefully can get on one of these bucks that’s still walking around
I am in the same boat, not a great year for me. Going to be 1 degree here in KY on Friday morning. I think I am going to stay in.
May go back to western KY second week in January.
Big mistake I made this season. I let the weather dictate when I hunted. Next year, the calender is king. If it is 95 degrees during the first two weeks of November, I am hunting.

At least you’ve got a couple in the freezer, that’s good! I’ve got until Jan 10th to get a buck but limited on days I can get out. Got until Jan 22nd in the management zone to try and get more does, trying to get to a Buck incentive tag for next year.
I’ve been having to work on perspective a lot lately. 3 months ago I hadn’t ever killed a deer with a bow. Now I’ve got 3 in the freezer and a chance for more but get mad at myself for not getting a buck. Working on mentally getting back to that spot I should be in; an attitude of gratitude for the time in the woods and any deer I am blessed enough to harvest. I didn’t get into this again for antlers, I wanted time in the woods and meat for my family.
Don’t get me wrong, I still want the buck. But I’m not regretting ones I passed on as much. If I don’t get a buck I didn’t add the points to the team I would’ve liked but you all have sure got my into the saddle on some days I would’ve skipped and been SUPER helpful with advice and encouragement and I appreciate every one of you! As does my family, we are eating good!

Im not not to worried about it really I had my opportunities could have shot a nice piebald buck at 170 yards but never practiced that far with my muzzleloader before didn’t want to injure him or anything. I still have time to get it done though just been trying to stay organized while getting other things done this year we’ll see how the rest of the season goes. had a buck with a broken G2 that stopped showing up at my camera and seen him on my brothers camera witch is a long ways from each other might try to hunt him tomorrow

Well fellows I am still trying. -1 degrees here with 20 mph wind gusts making the wind chill at 20 below. Just as my luck would have it, I chose the wrong stand location and saw a couple does but they must have got a whiff of me and just eased the other way. The other stand was covered in deer this evening bucks and does and one shooter. So the saga continues, but it’s been fun!

If you are out their in -1 conditions, you should win the award for the most dedicated team member?

Well I am a pretty die hard hunter, but this year I just purchased an Iwom for these brutal days. Let me tell you guys that it is worth every penny and I wasn’t even a little bit chilly. Also their customer service is unreal.

Well I shot a young doe, right at last shooting light, Arrow hit a limb, which deflected my shot, pretty sure the shot was back. I’ve never made a bad shot before tonight and I’m sick about it. Gonna give her some time and go see about a blood trail, no blood at impact sight, arrow had light blood and smells like a liver hit to me. On impact she done a big kick, jumped about 3 bounces and then just eased off kinda humped up. I’ll keep ya posted!
