Headed back from France tomorrow, time to get back in the woods
Congrats buddy!FINALLY shucked that monkey that has been riding me all season. Took the compound out since I was hunting in light rain/heavy drizzle. 3y/o 8 point posed for me at 12 steps. First time in at least 15 years I have intentionally shot a buck under 4 but I was not going to pass a legal deer the way this year has gone. Went 60 and stirred the gravy.
I hear ya. I still need at least one more for the freezer and 2 would be better. Gotta stay focused and keep grinding.I’m running out of days here. Glad I hunted hard early and got some does in the freezer. I’ll have a few more sits (I hope) to try to get a buck and upgrade for the team and get my first buck with a bow. Damn job has been getting in the way lately and now I’ve got some out of town Christmas things on the horizon. I’m too stubborn to give up until the final buzzer though so I guess you never know. Somewhat regretting passing on a few this season, even the 11 pointer lol.
I am in the same boat, not a great year for me. Going to be 1 degree here in KY on Friday morning. I think I am going to stay in.This hasn’t been a good year with things going on only killed a spike and a small doe during the gun seasons but looking to get out this Friday and Christmas day to saddle hunt hopefully can get on one of these bucks that’s still walking around
At least you’ve got a couple in the freezer, that’s good! I’ve got until Jan 10th to get a buck but limited on days I can get out. Got until Jan 22nd in the management zone to try and get more does, trying to get to a Buck incentive tag for next year. This hasn’t been a good year with things going on only killed a spike and a small doe during the gun seasons but looking to get out this Friday and Christmas day to saddle hunt hopefully can get on one of these bucks that’s still walking around
If you are out their in -1 conditions, you should win the award for the most dedicated team member?Well fellows I am still trying. -1 degrees here with 20 mph wind gusts making the wind chill at 20 below. Just as my luck would have it, I chose the wrong stand location and saw a couple does but they must have got a whiff of me and just eased the other way. The other stand was covered in deer this evening bucks and does and one shooter. So the saga continues, but it’s been fun!

Hope ya find herWell I shot a young doe, right at last shooting light, Arrow hit a limb, which deflected my shot, pretty sure the shot was back. I’ve never made a bad shot before tonight and I’m sick about it. Gonna give her some time and go see about a blood trail, no blood at impact sight, arrow had light blood and smells like a liver hit to me. On impact she done a big kick, jumped about 3 bounces and then just eased off kinda humped up. I’ll keep ya posted!
Congrats!!Well I finally get to add some points, she only went about 70 yards and piled up, it was a low liver hit as expected and exited through the armpit on opposite side. Thankful it turned out!
