I decided to get a new string and cable made for my dad's old bow and see if I can shoot again (shoulder surgery 6 years ago sent me to xbow). It is only set to 50lbs and so far so good. I can hit a 2" circle out to 30 yds. Just like riding a bike! Going to take it out Saturday with the cold front moving in, going from 97 on Thursday to 54 on Saturday morning. Will try to get a doe for the team and in memory of my dad.

My local boys came through on 9/11, but not before or after. I passed all three of them last year in late November and early December, they should be back about that time again for the rut. They don't stay on us for most of the year but our plots hold the does.

Saw 4 small bucks and 3 does this morning. Does never got closer than 51 yds.
