How do you climb with just the knaider and no swaider?

I've always just made mine cause its pretty simple but there are people selling them too.

With just the knaider you just raise your leg with the knaider, hook onto the stepp and stand up.

Wow, $49 for just the knaider with shipping on EWO. I may have to try something different for now. Maybe I can catch one in the classifieds.

No need to spend that. You can make one for probably $10 or from stuff you have laying around.
You need a hook similar to this, https://lonewolfhuntingproducts.com/collections/parts-accessories/products/e-z-hang-hook
some webbing and some sort of buckle. You can make the whole thing without sewing if you use slide adjusters but since I've made mine myself I just figure out the length and sew them up.

I made up a knaider from some 1” tubing and a wire hook that came off a beat up ratchet strap. The hook looks similar to the one in the picture but heavier. I like how it works but I’m going to need some practice. I’ll probably use the WE steps in the afternoon until I get good at it. Thanks for the insight!

Haven't been able to get out this week since I got back from the sika trip. My daughter was really jealous that I went camping so I booked a site for us tonight and then we have a family party tomorrow afternoon. Sunday is looking rainy but if it looks like a light rain I'll try to get out for both sits. Tracking in the rain isn't fun... Hopefully I can get out for a few sits next week. It's almost mid October so hopefully I start seeing some more movement. I haven't been out as much as usual but I've only seen 1 whitetail out of a tree so far this season! Unfortunately for her she is the one that got stuck!

Been out twice this week - haven’t been seeing deer either. I did have a doe persistently bleating at me from another 75-100 yards away when I used my doe bleat call. She was downwind though and wouldn’t come in. I think she smelled me and balked, but kept bleating to get the “doe” she heard to come to her. That’s a new experience for me. Maybe she was separated from her fawn?

Sorry guys, I totally whiffed on a chip shot this morning. I had three dies within 15 yards at totally choked. I’ve missed the last three deer I’ve shot at so far.
Don’t sweat it, stuff happens. Just keep practicing and slinging the sticks. At least you are in the game and had some action which is more than I can say for myself so far this season.

Here’s my DIY knaider. Leftover web tubing, an old hook off of a ratchet strap, and a $3 buckle.

If you have any bungee cord it tie some on like a prussik loop and wrap it over my foot to keep it in place and the loop from sliding up.

That’s a good idea. I did come up with some castration bands and put one near the foot loop. I’ll look around. I’m sure I have some bungee material too.

Anyone been hunting. This evening was the only opportunity I had all weekend. Saw nada.

Only 1 sit for me this weekend…. Got out this afternoon for a bit of a rainy sit. Allowed me to slip in super quiet and set up about 30 yards in the hardwoods on a transition from a marsh with good bedding. The rain stopped about 5:00 so I had high hopes that they would be getting on their feet a little early. Had 2 come in from the marsh just after last shooting light. Guess I needed to be right on the transition edge today. Found a couple small scrapes on the way in today but just don’t feel like I’m on the hot sign yet this year.

It’s been in the 80’s and 90’s here. We have a front moving in tonight so maybe tomorrow.

I’m out too. Nothing but turkeys so far. The season is open on them too.
