Team 7 Thread

My buddy went out today and sat 80 yards from where I was earlier in the week. Right where I told him the deer were, he has a good wind so he went for it. and of course they ended up staying out of range of him and were right in front of where I sat. Now I’m scratching my head and watching the wind to decide where to sit Monday or Tuesday…

The good thing is they never spooked so we’ve been clean with our entry and exits so far. I’m on em just gotta close the deal.

So how many points do we get if another guys kills a deer in my spot I had scouted out?

Went out Saturday morning on the same piece my brother killed his buck...saw 12 does had 9 within 20 yards of the tree but my county is a 1 doe only county so had to let them pass..Will start getting real serious in about another week or so. Would love to get my Ohio tag punched before I head out to Nebraska and Iowa.

wanted to get deeper in but I saw a few and snuck up a tree, they were feeding over here last week so hoping they come into range.

On a side note. Crazy how dark it got for a passing storm that never dropped any rain, wasn’t sure I’d even be able to see my pins now it’s sunny as all hell

Just had three come past just out of range, I was hoping they’d be back then I saw their tails going the wrong way, something out there spooked em, I know it wasn’t me though

Hunted this morning. Sat in a tripod we have up. Passed up a nice 9 point (a little young) couldn't get a shot at the does that came by but ended up shooting one of these smelly things.

In the saddle tonight and walked 30 yards from my target buck bedded on entry. He didn't bust out because I just kept walking by. He undoubtedly smelled me but I think he stayed in his bed. I doubt he makes it in tonight but I'm still giving her a go.

That should count for 7 points based on the length of the cutters

Welp, I had a doe bust me Thursday morning before I could get a shot! Did a little scouting today and might try to get a doe tomorrow morning.

Snuck into a bedding area yesterday afternoon that I have killed a couple small bucks in this time of year in years past. Had 2 come in at 5:50 paralleling me in some thick boxwood brush. Needed the lead doe to take 3 more steps to clear the brush for a broadside 20 yard shot but she turned 90 and headed straight at me. I was behind the tree but she spotted my backpack and froze. After a head bob stare down she decided she didn’t like what was different in the woods and bounded off away from me to 35 yards but had some brush in the way. All I could see of the other one was it’s legs in the thick brush. Good to see some animals and get to full draw.

I plan to go out again this afternoon to give a different spot a try.

got a pretty cool pic on one of my cameras this week that I thought I’d share. Scrape opened up under that licking branch this week and it was on fire until Thursday when the temps shot up into the 70’s. This will be my destination next weekend with temps headed back into the 50’s.
