Team 7 Thread

I had a doe come by at 9am and that was it for a full day sit. A painful full day sit I might add. Seems weird… idk if I should pick up and move or wait it out? There’s usually action in this area right now.
If in doubt, scout it out! I just made that up but it sounds good

First hunt of the weekend tonight, at the golf course which just closed. Had a 6 pt give me multiple chances, he never smelled me, though it walked in my scent cone (I love scentlok, full suit including head and mouth cover). It was the first deer i could have shot but passed, ever! I was really hoping for another doe or bigger buck, I know there's one there. I had 2 does and 2 fawns abt 60 yards out...... I'm really happy with the spot I found and know I just need to get a little closer to the funnel I saw along a course link. Golf deer are easier to be honest as they see humans and have no fear of us, but I'm not sure how they'll react if/when they see me up in a tree! More pics in LITS thread. 20221106_154648.jpg

Open country Dakota Whitetails are some aggravating SOBs

Car was leaking oil… lost 2 days working on it. Thought it was fixed… still pouring oil. So now I’ve lost 3 days of my rutcation and need to find some wheels… sigh….

How’s everyone doing out there?

It got worse… I’m persistent and wanted to hunt, so I spent $30 on oil, dumped it in and was heading out to chase deer! Heck if it’s leaking, it’s the rut! Well…. The mailman decided to pull right out in front of me and BOOM!

No deer killed. Really wouldn’t have mattered contest wise as I only hunted from a tree one afternoon. The rest of the time was spot and stalk.

Had a blast and saw at least 10 different bucks I would deem 150 or better. Insane.

That sounds like a great place to hunt

I only managed to get out for one sit last weekend. 40-50mph winds so I set up on the ground tethered to a pine tree while sitting on my stack of climbing sticks. Sat for a while and still hunted for a while. Glad I wasn’t in the big timber because I heard several trees come down not far away. No deer were harmed in the making of this episode.

My brother in law is lending me his spare car and my buddy gave me permission to hunt his spot since he doesn’t think he’ll be able to this year. It looks like it’s supposed to rain most of the day, but as long as it isn’t too bad, I’ve got my rain gear packed.
