TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

I'm setup in kind of an observation sit this evening. The community scrape my camera is on is about 150 yards east ot me, been having some bucks come by it around daylight heading to bed. I found a buck bed in September while squirrel hunting about 100 yards north of me. I'm hoping to see a buck leave it heading to that scrape. If so I'll slip back in in the morning and try to shoot him in his bed. I've got approximately 40 squirrels around me right now and sounds like its hailing from all the acorns falling.

I’m up, hunting the edge of a swamp. A mucky walk getting in here so it was a little noisy, but I’m tied in. Dead calm this morning.

Had to shine a light at a group of 2 coming in after me. They set up about 75 yards away. Hate that, but such is life.

Had 5 come by at 15 yards. 2 doe's, 1 doe fawn and 2 knot heads. Old doe kept trying to run the knot heads offScreenshot_20191103-085340_Gallery.jpg

I pretty much gave up on scent control a few years ago. One thing I learned yesterday is eating smoked venison jerky in the tree is a step too far... I got winded so many times lol.

Kind of a funny story to this little guy. I'll post it in another thread when I have time. Just got back to camp. It was 1.75 miles back to the frame pack, then back in and back out. I'm tired

First deer with a recurve in 20 years, and the first with that bow which was the first recurve my dad ever built.

Congrats!

Sorry lads not the best showing this last weekend. Sunday morning I got in looking for cruising bucks had one come in quick but just too many branches and at the edge of my range. I moved and while on foot had a doe feeding 45 50 yards away. Just could not close the distance and was on foot anyway. Then Monday I hit a buck with a slug but never found him anywhere no blood either. Some red hair but mostly white so I may have shaved his chest. Anyway I feel ill about it and have pulled back from the field. 13th I head up to rifle hunt.

On the upside the public land I have has these three on it likely next year before I can figure them out but hey: Screenshot_20191105-193612_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20191105-193643_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20191105-193653_Gallery.jpg
