TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

A couple guys I work with have the Milwaukee electric vests. I've been threatening to order one for a while now...
 
It's a miserable Cold day here. Getting off work at noon and going to get a box stand ready for me and my dad to hunt in the morning for the opening day of rifle season. Kind of a long tradition of ours to hunt this stand together. Hopefully he can shoot one.
 
I’ll be out this weekend. Our gun season opens Saturday but it’s a circus, so I’ll be holed up on an archery only property somewhere.
 
We're in second place after the score updates, hopefully some of us can kill some deer soon! I'll be in a box stand in the morning with my dad, so no chance for a saddle kill from me in the morning. Hes also up to bat first though. If he kills one and that place is still hot I may have to wear my saddle in that box stand lol just put my tether around one of the roof beams and take the chair out
 
I will be hunting Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Even though it’s the rut I’m not going to pass any more does. We need the meat.
 
It was a Beautiful 19 deg morning. My wife and kids are out of town this weekend so I'll be sitting all day today and tomorrow.

Already saw 3 or 4 Young bucks, several does and one mature buck ran by at 30 yds.

Just because there is a box stand there doesn’t mean you have to use it.

Back up. In my all time favorite tree. This is the one that had a large maple fall into it. I didn’t think it was climbable earlier in the season, but weaved my way through this evening.
 
I had a doe bedded 11yds from me. I figured I would wait her out to stand naturally. A fork cam e in and chased her out... 5 small bucks otherwise.
 
Nothing this morning, but I did find my thermacell that I lost in September. And took down another illegal tree stand. Just left it leaning against a log by the tree. Hate when people don’t follow the rules on suburban hunts!
 
I shot a public land doe Saturday morning. Now I’m headed back out for rut-cation. Will be sleeping in a tent and hunting public land till I shoot a buck or Thursday afternoon, whichever comes first.
 
Still have a week to fill a buck tag, gonna try my best. Right now any 8 pointer better watch out. I won't be picky.
