TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

Back at it this evening. Made my first bonehead mistake of the season when I climbed up a crooked tree and found that gravity was pulling me off the side of my platform. Not comfortable in the least. Moved about 50 yards and now I’m settled.

Your doing better than me. I dropped 3 guys off at trees on public and I ended up back at the truck. Found nothing i liked for myself. At this point I'm just a guide lol
 
I've been sitting for about 2 hours now. Was thinking about shooting a doe today, so I probably wont see one!
 
I'll be getting out for a sit this week for an evening or 2 hopefully. Now repping team 8 decal thanks to @onestringer ! Unfortunately the temps were a bit cold and i jacked up the "Team" lettering...

Friday evening I followed a line of fresh rubs and scrapes on public land and almost caught up to the buck. Wind was in my favor and the rain (earlier) made for good stalking as the leaves were still damp. Here’s a picture of the last scrape that I found. It was freshly peed in and there’s a clear hoof print in it. It’s a good size print but not huge. There was a line of scrapes and rubs in the same place last year. It’ll be at least a couple of weeks before I can go back there.

My hand is a little bit off the ground, so the track is bigger than it appears in the picture. It’s about 3 1/2 of my fingers wide
 
Man I love this time of year! Had 2 new ones show up this week, including this nice 10. Theres a better 10 I've been hunting the last 2 years I'm hoping shows back up. He only shows up around Halloween and stays about 2 weeks and moves on. Hes one of them that if he would of been killed I would have heard about it, so fingers crossed he shows back up.Screenshot_20191014-100442_Gallery.jpg
 
Looking at the standings fellas. It’s time to neglect work, family obligations, friends (unless they have farms) and just about everything else and shoot some deer. I always say if my friends and family truly love me they will be there after deer season.

I've already got time scheduled off Nov 9-17 and again Nov 23-Dec 1. I've got a public land gun permit hunt that first week good for either sex and overall I still got 4 doe tags and one buck tag to fill. Hopefully i can start with a doe this weekend. The muzzleloader season opens and me and a buddy plan to hit some public. He'll have his MZ but I'll have my bow
 
I'll be out this weekend with my son looking for some more venison. Should be a fun time. It will be the first time he's hunted from a tree. I'll be tethered in my saddle behind him filming.
 
My cell cam had a good but of afternoon movement today. Hopefully I'll get to slide in there and break in the beast sticks on a doe

I am hoping to go all next week it's a pre rut-cation. Had an unsuccessful bear hunt and goose hunt so I figure my bad luck is running out it's time to hit the forest.
