TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

I've actually been toying with the idea of picking up one of those myself. Let me know how you like it.
I've shot it twice. Love it so far. Super handy, can shoot it one handed, easy to take down, tunable (unlike any other crossbow I've seen tha ks to the lack of a rail), and very quiet.

I'll be tuning and sighting it I'm this evening, and hopefully taking it to the woods to.orrow.

I’ve got tomorrow off to hunt. I was toying with either today or tomorrow and ultimately opted for the 3 day weekend. Today looks like an awesome weather day to hunt. Tomorrow, stiff winds gusting 30mph. Hoping to make it happen in the wind!

Just got home from an Idaho mule deer hunt. It was rough country for sure (2000’ climbs daily). The deer were hard to find but lots of elk, sheep, and predators. I was able to stalk into shooting range on a small buck the last day.

I will be back at it this qeekend

We have a 3 day muzzleloader season that starts today. I won't get to hunt until Saturday and will be going in blind to an area that I really wanted to scout this spring and didn't get a chance to and I think I might have to shoot the very first deer I see. The Kite @Nutterbuster sold me needs something kilt from it.

How ya likin' that thing?

Only got to sit in it for about 5 min but, I think I will like it. I liked my Kestrel except the size one I had was a little too small. I've tried various DIY saddles the last two years but, finally got tired of the hassle of using (and having to remember) both an RCH and a saddle. I'll let you know after Saturday, I'm planning on sitting all day or until I kill something.

Nothing this morning. Gonna take a lunch break, watch an episode or two of the new meat eater season that just dropped, then head down to an area I’ve been meaning to hunt for years and never have.

Good luck! My cell cam had a bunch of action on this scrape from 2 til daylight then went dead. Business is picking up though! Should be awesome in a week or so. Oh yeah, another new one! Did I mention I love this time of year!Screenshot_20191018-065327_SPYPOINT LINK.jpg

I sat a small food plot last night in the wind and rain. Had a small buck at thirty and a big doe! I’m excited for them to start moving more! I gotta contribute some points!

I didnt get a chance to hint this evening, had to wire up a new receptacle for the dryer and pull it to the breaker box. My texting cam had deer allover it that 30 minutes or so of shooting light. Maybe I can slip off tomorrow.

Had a good evening in my stand at work. Shot a doe. Couldn’t hear her crash because there were a couple other does and yearlings trying to decide which way to go. As I was lowering my bow to the ground heard another deer come in. Couldn’t help myself pulled it back up and a little seven point gave me a shot. I hadn’t really thought about it but these were my first saddle archery deer. I pretty much quit bow hunting when my son was born and just started back last year when he was old enough to stay home while I hunted. I think he was three when I arrowed my last deer and he is 13 now. Wow how time flies. CA03EF50-E340-4347-895D-62952036AFA1.jpegE9AF0DA4-3244-41AE-9DAD-51EC976C31F1.jpeg

Apparently a little of @Nutterbuster luck rubbed off on the kite I bought from him. First sit in it I shot a doe. I went in blind and set up in the dark. At first light I didn't like what I was seeing but told myself to sit still until 9:00. At 8:58 nine does walked by at 15 yards. Also the first deer I've quartered and packed out. I don't think I'll drag a deer again.
