TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

That's one of the things I want to learn this spring/summer is to repel down after the hunt

I have certainly a had steep learning curve with one sticking and rappelling down. Here is an actual quote text message I sent a buddy after a hunt. "Forget everything I said about one sticking it suck its sucks infinitely in any advantages that it has its far outweighed by how much it sucks" Please forgive grammar that was a voice text while walking out.

I stuck with it and I think I am over the hump in the learning curve.

Where in the heck am I gonna put all this venison???
Guess you'll just have to stop hunting til you eat one or two of them deer. In the meantime go ahead and send me that ambush, I'd like to try one out lol. I never looked at them much til a day or two ago, they're pretty similar in size and function as the platform I've been drawing up at work.

He don’t have to quit hunting just shooting. My chest freezer at home is full and I have a deer in the break room freezer at work. I’d shoot the right deer but it’s not likely at this point.

This is a safe place correct? I need help. I tend to climb stupid trees. Anyone else have this problem

At least you’re hooked into your rapid descent device. I climbed a pine a year or so ago that seemed fine. As I leaned out to make sure I could shoot down the firebreak I didn’t stop until I was over the firebreak about 8’ off the ground.

Holy crap. I would have needed new drawers.

Sorry I haven'tbeen on here much. Merry Christmas and happy new year to all you guys.
I butchered deer number six today. I can only kill one more in Ohio (I got one in a controlled hunt so it doesn’t count against my statewide limit of 6). The last one will have to have antlers on it or I’m not shooting. I passed up a few bucks earlier in the season, waiting for a good one. I kind of hate to shoot a little one. But I’m hating it less and less as the end of the season approaches.

Yeah I've passed up on bucks only to regret it later. Now I live by the dont pass up something on the first day that you would shoot on the last. But in Florida we can kill more than one buck a year.

So it's 60 degrees, rainy and 90% humidity. Crazy, should be in the 30s here. No hunting for me, I already hunted in the high temps early season. lol maybe I'll burn a work day this week.

It’s supposed to stay warm and wet here in SW Ohio for the rest of January. But the deer have been moving big time in the rain in daylight here.

Most of my hunt days I’m wishing for 60’s.
