Hey Squatch,are you gonna put these in the contest submission thread? And congrats,a double is awesome,i only had one so far. With a muzzleloader,my gun season was done by 7.10 a.m. a few years ago.
 
Friday was brutal. I sat from 8am till 6pm and saw nothing. Toughest year so far for me but I'm keeping the faith and getting out when possible.

Wow that looks cold. I am in Germany right now so i missed that first snow in NY. I am happy the gun season starts late this year,that gives me some time to get out with the bow after i get back.
 
@Squatch ,you have to put your double in the contest submission thread to get us the points. Has everyone been busy with non hunting stuff? I have,but hope to be back at it this weekend. I would love to get a doe amd maybe upgrade my buck as well. I still have four tags and would love to fill a few with the bow. Gun season is not that exciting to me,but there is some state land nearby that is bow only,so i am stoked for that.

How many points is my buck worth?

Saturday morning I saw a huge buck! Probably 180+ inches! I could have shot him. But... I already got my buck for the year.
Since I shot that buck on October 4, I’ve had three larger bucks in range, but have not seen a doe!
Last year I didn’t see a single mature buck all season.
I’ve got Wednesday and Thursday off this week for hunting. I plan on putting some meat on the ground.
 
I’ll be chasing the elusive whitetail buck this week starting Wednesday. Taking off Wednesday and pulling some all day sits Saturday and Sunday and taking another day off the following week based on weather. Hopefully I can add another to the list. Good luck to everybody.
 
Well, boys...saw the big boy this morning. Wouldn’t have counted for the contest as I’m in a tree stand...however, he’s a SLOB 8 pointer and I know he’s in the area. He was locked down with a doe and would not get more than 20 yards away from her for nothing. I had him at 46 yards but I was an emotional wreck at that point and just couldn’t make myself shoot one that far. Plus it was through some brush, so just not a good shot. Hoping to get a midday opportunity—all day sit today.
 
Passed on 2 fawns at 10 yds this morning, one was a button buck. Its been my toughest season in years. Its been so warm I've given up on all day sits this past week and have only seen deer in the mornings. Temps should be dropping next week so I'll see if I can steal a couple of days from work. Let's keep after them.
