I hope everyone gets some good deer hunting in as the season heats up. We started off hot and still have a great start to the contest holding steady in third.

It’s been since early October since we put up some points, who will be the next Team 9 member to add some points?

Let’s hope to seeing some bucks hit the ground for Team 9 over the next couple weeks! We got this!

Season is just starting to heat up bama...Bucks are just starting to show up earlier on trail cameras and that tells me the pre-rut is just a few days away. Haven't hunted here in my home state of Michigan I've been down chasing several good bucks down in Ohio. My twin brother saw the biggest three bucks together hes ever seen.....thats what happens when a state manages the whitetail resource the right way. Heading back this weekend

That’s exciting! I’m looking forward to the next couple weeks and seeing what the Midwest guys can produce with the pre-rut and rut. Our rut doesn’t come in until late December/January and even February.

It can be quite confusing down South. Check out this rut map produced by the DNR. I live in Madison county up North and there are several sections of rut activity including that little green dot. There are three different ruts in my county alone. I also hunt in Winston and Lawrence county too so I may get some rut activity in early December.

Same here. This weekend I saw three fresh scrapes. Cold weather has started moving in. 30 to 40s and snow today. Love this time of year.

Don’t be jealous Bama. I live in Maine and I hate the snow. It’s usually good for a day or two but then it freezes up and it’s like walking on corn flakes

So I pulled back into work at 4:55 for a 5:00 meeting and out in the field on our property there were deer. I have permission to hunt this field. The wind was good as well. Lucky for them, I had the meeting. Next time!

I could have long bombed them at 174 yds but decided to wait for a more opportune time.

What do you mean lucky for them? What meeting is more important than your arrow smacking that big fat doe in the ribs?

Haha! That middle one was a big fatty. It was tempting, but I am a pastor and I was meeting a guy at the church to help him prepare his testimony for his upcoming baptism. Figured I shouldn’t miss that one. Since it’s at work, there will be more opportunities. They regularly come out on that hillside. Just got to wait for the opportune time.

Went out for a mid day hunt (9:00-1:30) since it was my only time available. Was going to a bedding area to try and get as close as I could. Almost got carried away by mosquitoes again, and had the wind swirling the opposite direction than forecasted. Changed plan and went to try a new area. Found some great feed tree sign on the way and set up on the off chance of a mid day feed. There was some thick stuff nearby so there was a slim chance of one bedding near. No one showed. Got down and did some scouting before I had to leave. Best sign I saw all day was where I set up. Enjoyed getting to climb and set up. Was really smooth and quiet. Really enjoying my versa aider. I only took 3 sticks and was able to get 18ft up.

Got down to my Ohio lease today...cold but nothing came thru this morning...plenty of buck sign...hoping tonite one of us throws an arrow at one of our hit listers....

My next hunt is Monday afternoon on a farm that has been pretty productive. Unless my daughter decides to make an appearance, then I'll be off the grid for a couple of weeks.

I have wed through Monday off so hopefully I can lay another one down. First time I have ever been able to take PTO to go hunting.
