Team 9 Thread

Was planning on starting vacation tomorrow and hopefully add some points, at least 10 for a couple of doe. However, life happens and work has other plans. I should definitely be in the woods no later than Saturday evening and will be in the woods a great deal next week.

This deer was at mom and dad's last night. Then this morning a mile away at dad's sub division he's building. Said he was going in cirlces 30 yards from the sod guys Screenshot_20241102_175534_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20241102_175530_Gallery.jpg

Congratulations to everyone! I can't seem to find a doe, but I keep sitting on top of bucks... I had about an 18" wide buck come in and bed 17 yards from me, for 45 minutes, on Saturday night!

Congratulations!!

Thanks. It was one of the craziest mornings I've ever had in the woods. I posted a quick summary in the live from the saddle thread but, basically 20 min after shooting this buck I had a legit 150" 10 pt follow a doe off the hill behind me. As I was watching him a 130" 9 pt came in behind me. There were also a couple other smaller bucks that were following the doe and the big 10, the big 10 didn' pay much attention to them unless they got close to the doe, then he would just turn towards them and they would take off.

However, when he saw the 9 pt he walked out between him and the doe. Then both bucks bristled up and side stepped towards each other for several yards. I thought I was going to get to see a fight but, as they got about 20 yards apart and it looked like the big boy was about to turn and crash antlers, the 9pt backed down. The 9 pt then went down and made a scrape while the 10 shredded a tree and made his own scrape. The entire encounter took over an hour and both deer were under 40 yards. It was definitely a morning Ill never forget. I ended up seeing 12 bucks total and had as many as five in sight at one time.
