Team 9

These kinds of seasons happen, to be as cliche as possible here "it's called huntin, not killin" lol hopefully you learned alot this year, maybe even took notes, and can apply the lessons learned next year. I have been keeping a hunt journal for 4 seasons now and it has helped me dramatically!!

Already ate my tag soup. This year turned into a season long scouting trip for next year. On a positive note, didn’t shoot and therefore didn’t lose any arrows and I know where I’ll be next year.

Same here as RMcDonald7 ! Just in the last two weeks I took my only 2 shots of the year. One hit the back strap and one clear over top. Checked my bow at home and realized my tune got off.
However, I still have a couple weeks left to salvage something. I’ve done a heck of a lot of hunting and only blank tags to show for it. Second year in the “many” saddles and never looking back at metal stands. STILL GRINDING!!

I was on fire archery and muzzleloader and seen deer every hunt up until gun season. By far my best season to date.... Only gonna have 1 or 2 opportunities to try for another deer so could still get lucky. 5 arrows released, 1 doe and 3 hogs and that whiff on a solid buck...I really thought I would finally connect with a buck this year. My 8th hunting season about wrapped up...lucky number 9 hopefully be my year to touch antlers.....I haven't got to spend nearly enough time in the woods cause of silly real life....I didn't necessarily really wanna sign up for the contest but somebody paid my way so felt obligated....sorry couldn't help with points more. U guys carried us to whatever standing we end up at. If any of u feel frisky anyone and everyone invited to our Florida saddle fest...come on down and kill some swines in the pines, enjoy the sunshine, and share some berry wine...no masks required

Another one bites the dust!!

I went to my friend's lease this morning and we both got skunked....listening to turkey gobbles all morning...he was pretty fired up

He had to go so I drove to some public for the afternoon...saw 1 fox squirrel and a loan doe in the moonlight as I walked out.....getting down to the wire...I still give it a go whenever I get an opportunity

Well just found out I'll be headed back tot the pacific again this July. Can't really call these pacific deployments "true deployments", I mean we live in hotels and I take my bow and saddle....... Anyway, deer season will be kicking off a week after I got there, so I'm do everything I can to find another one and make the shot count.... I was just deployed there this past January to May, only got one shot at a buck and I whiffed. But I learned alot so I'll do my very best to make it count and try to get one one. I was pleased to see that I'll be back home in time for archery season so I'm not terribly disappointed about leaving again.

Well, I had a beautiful afternoon here in WI and I had a pleasant hike but never found what I was looking for. I have till the end of the month and would like to put another doe in the freezer but not looking like it'll happen.

Hunted the base this afternoon. Didn't see squat. That was the last day it was open till next season and probably my last deer hunt for the year.... Sorry fellas, I tried

I officially ended my deer season Saturday. Tore my xbow down yesterday to get the limbs replaced, again, as they are delaminating again. Got a secondary/backup last week, gonna fit it out almost identically, but I'm definitely using the total arrow weight closer to 500 now in an effort to reduce the shock on the limbs. But I have two so my confidence in xbows should he better next season, I was very nervous everyime I hunted, wondering if it would make it through that hunt....
I'll be headed back to Guam again this summer, gonna do my best to get on a sambar deer while there! I had a chance last time I was there but misjudged the distance ......

I could travel to the panhandle and still shoot deers but realistically my deer seasons over...1 or 2 pig hunts are still on the books for this season but as far as this contest goes I'm out. Sorry for the poor performance....that miss in archery still stings pretty good.

Everybody's invited to saddleflalooza/fla meet and greet....come on down and shoot some swines in the pines
