Good luck.

My lack of scouting this year means I’m 2TC climbing for the most part. However, I am bring my SRT kit if I find good trees.

Jumping on a plane tomorrow to OHIO for 4 days of scouting. Things are looking up.... better late than never. Main hunt is last week in October.

Got everything unpacked and settled in. It looks like 30mpg+ wind gusts this entire weekend which is both a bonus and a curse.

Wood edge scouting was largely disappointing with very little activity. There’s alot of corn still planted and the creek is dry so that could be why.

I did have a doe blow at me when I bumped a flock of turkeys so they’re here at least.

Rain is now forecast to be heavier but end sooner tomorrow so I should get a few hours in tomorrow evening.

Going in blind (no preseason scouting), do I go conservative and hunt the edge of the woods or go aggressive and work deeper in?

I’m hunting all weekend and think I’ll be conservative tomorrow and get more aggressive over the weekend.

If you have rain gear go in while it's raining, lowers the impact of scent sorta, deer will be on their feet, and you can move dang near silent. Just move super slow and stay frosty keeping your head on a swivel! It's my favorite way to go during the rain!!

Cold front moved in yesterday, 39° here this am, tomorrow morning it looks like it'll be low 40s. I'll be heading out and hour early or so.... gotta admit I'm like a kid before Xmas now that it's here.....

Alive! Had a nice pressure system the last 2 days, made it out twice, got skunked once and passed does this morning before work. @blt348 where in WI you at?

Going to be near Endeavor, WI…just 15 miles north of Portage or so.

I know the area but never hunted there, drove through on the interstate alot. You get bored and head NE let me know I'm in GB.

Thanks bud I really appreciate the kind gesture I’ll be in for the weekend as I’m traveling from Michigan we’ll see what we can do on the short weekend hunt

It’s cold, raining, forgot my kneepads and generally miserable but it’s good to be hunting again.

2TC is also a major PITA when it’s raining and the tree is slick.

You know that’s the REAL @Weldabeast. Not because of the yellow face … because of the wind checker coin-pouch! Nice job making sure it’s in the picture frame.

That coin pouch clinches Weldabeast as the 2022 Timber-Pimp of the year!

Now open your mouth for your next selfie, and show us your gold tooth!

Found 1 of the 3 arrows....touched it up at lunch....hey at least I can finish the day....I can't remember if I have arrows at home already made or not....I think 1 for sure. Expensive morning but it was awesome....I write it up laterScreenshot_20220923-180527~2.png

Note to self.

Tomorrow, wear your non-progressive glasses when you head out. That’ll make the bottom half of the woods, the part where the deer will be, less blurry.

I am back and getting ready for next Saturday. I may have missed it but where is everyone from? Any multiple state hunts?
