I’m getting used to that when I stay in SC. I did kill a nice one last year here, but before that it had been a few years.

Let a small six walk this morning. Of course cameras are blowing up tonight now that I'm home. Will be back at it later this week so hopefully can get something on the ground.

Watched my yearlings feed for a bit and I just had a feeling Ol Turkey Feet would show up after the cold rain stopped around 1030 like he does like clock work. Well here he comes, Grabbed bow and hook fell hitting every stick on the way down. Needless to say, HE GONE! Bed time for me.

Anyone out? No wind, low 60’s here. Doe kickin 3 yearlings to the trail this morning and eating all the acorns for herself. Saw my target buck out too far cruising perpendicular to me. Hope he checks this spot out before 30past. Might give some last minutes bleats and/or a young grunt or 3 on the extinguisher. Good luck

Heading out Wednesday to the legendary Bankhead NF for the first time ever. Hopefully I’m as lucky as ol Micheal Perry is good ...

Did another 3.5 mile loop. Found some scrapes along a pretty good funnel but no rubs near by. Nothing looked hot enough to sit. Hiked back out and called it a day before 3pm.

Posted a thread titled "Misery loves company..." describing my first attempt at shooting a deer (mature buck chasing 2 doe) with a bow and from a saddle. Sad to say it did not end as I had hoped, but I am slowly becoming re-invigorated and plan to give it one more try before gun season. I may decide to take a doe just to make that first notch in the belt and restore some confidence, but definitely have some mature bucks on camera that hopefully stay around. A former student on mine had a friend fall out of a stand and die this past weekend, so just a reminder to stay safe everyone.

Saw several does a dang nice buck at last light Saturday evening. He was working a licking branch at what GAIA says was 317yds. He was broadside and it was wide open from me to him, but I couldn’t get rock solid on him. I can’t take that shot with any movement at all.

Ninja’d my way around to a tree that was 45-50 yds from the licking branch yesterday afternoon, but only saw one doe.

My 9 and 13 year old killed does (did that pass the spelling test) this weekend during youth days but I'm still O from the saddle.
