TEAM LAST CHANCE

I got a "cold" snap coming in tomorrow for three days. I am going to get out and hit the flooded timber tomorrow. Tues and wed I will see what the wind is doing and make a plan to get under a couple of huge oaks that haven't thrown nuts for a couple of years - banking that they are this year.

Last night my buddy and I pushed into a new patch of a cedar swamp and found some good ground to hunt. He got winded by a doe who came in from behind him right before dark. I will be getting back in there soon.

I ended up shooting him through both shoulders. The hide had the broadhead held up from a pass through. I think he died while I was waiting in the tree.
I had to get it to the processor before I could get home. I'm ok sans glamor shot.
I ended up going somewhere I'd never been to after getting chased out by the 4 wheelers on another piece of state land.
Picked some hills from a map and ended up walking into some old apple trees and a clear spot in some thick brush. Hopefully I can get back up there for the rut and get some points for the board.
149lbs, 8 pointer, my personal best so far. First big woods buck too
 
What broadhead are you using with the mini? Are you using the arrows that come with it? Are you cranked to 150#s? Sorry for the questions. I just bought a Mini and am trying to decide what my setup will be. Thanks

I have it cranked up to 150lbs. Shooting 125 grains with the stock arrows.
Shot this one with "tooth of the arrow" vented wide. Happy to help
 
I killed one Sunday guys. 12 pointer on public here in Iowa. Had my platform hung at 6 feet in their bedroom. Saw 8 different bucks. Best movement I've ever had this time of the year. Unfortunately meat was no good as the coyotes got on him pretty quick. Best of luck to the rest of you!

Well are new born is in the nicu. But I’m still going to try and get something down. All it has to be is brown. He is doing making improvements btw

I threw up a hail Mary and asked red squirrel to ammend the contest rules based on safety concerns. We'll see if he changes them which would allow me to enter my buck.
