Telephone Pole Rub

Saw this out mowing today. Standard size telephone pole. I’d sure like to see the buck rubbing up on this.

I’ve got one mature buck on the property that I’ve seen on camera a few times. I can’t imagine he’s wide enough to get around this pole though.

Impressive nonetheless. DD8707BD-93F7-4847-B047-A2E0EB30793F.jpeg

Wow, really early for this type of sign post rub to show up....I can tell you this usually means hes bedded very near...

dan infalts been known to scratch stuff with his beast sticks......just to throw other hunters off course

Haha. I know Dan is in Michigan right now but he’s no where near this property.

Should be interesting to see what, If anything, shows up on cam here in the next few days. Work will have me bogged down and won’t be able to hunt till the weekend.

The location of this pole is a terrible place to try and hunt. It’s right on a old path that goes down by the swamp, just off a bend in the 1/2 mile long drive, that then goes back into a wooded area that was destroyed by straight line winds about 8 years ago. The overgrown trail is maintained by the power company as that us the string of poles that bring power from the road back to the house.

Everything about the paragraph says "big buck" to me.

This here may be the culprit. I have better pictures of him on cam, but those are on my computer since I just got a new phone.

I do think this picture is a tad misrepresentative though...you know how camera angles can overindulge things. The other pictures don’t make him look quite this nice. He is the buck I’m looking for this season though. The other pictures just don’t suggest he’s wide enough for a telephone pole.

They will rub from sides too. Nice buck. Get em dawg

Picked this guy on up cam this morning over by the pole.

That’s a beefy neck if I’d say so.

"If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money because I'm a saddle hunter. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare to deer like you. If you hide now during the October lull, that'll be the end of it." Or something like that...

Haha. I dig it.
