Tether, Lineman's, SRT, with no metal & one handed operation

John,
I spent some time this morning watching your videos. Your doing a great job. Plus I think your advancing saddle hunting. Informative stuff. I'm currently using a Stich hitch variation that Brocky came up with. It works great. However it's a little long for my tastes when it's under load. How long is your ascender hitch when under load. I'm looking for a more compact hitch.

I'll text it you. I don't know how to post pics on the net. I have dressed it as tightly as I can get it. I've been playing around with different tether heights. Belly button height is very comfortable for me because there is more pressure on my legs and less on the saddle. Less pressure =less hip pinch, less hip pinch =less fidgeting. less fidgeting= less movement. I'm naturally a stander/leaner so I want to be as close to the tree as possible. The Biner plus the knot has me about 10-12" away from the tree. I'd like to get a little closer.

Thx for your comments.
Length will vary based on the diameter and number of wraps. And so i encourage anyone to just grab a cord and tie it. But it's a fairly long hitch. It opens and closes in an accordion like fashion and that adds to its hold and breakability.

However, if ya look at me attach my bridge to the TRC on RescTech in the video, you'll have a fair idea.

Yeah this^^^ JRB I cannot thank you enough for the free education! This is my first season in a saddle and learning to work with ropes. I’m having so much fun! I’ve got lots to learn and look forward to using your knots. I just got my resctech and sterling TRC, so it was very cool seeing it in action!

I'm going to have to get comfortable tying this. I really like the idea of a self-tending friction hitch. I'm just now getting comfortable with a Michoacan, and this has a few more steps. Worth the effort, though.

I might try a step-by-step pictorial I can save to my phone.
