Rubber fender washer. 1 1/2” OD x 1/4” ID fits nice and snug over 8mm rope, but still slides easily for adjustments.
This keeps your link in place and your rope from falling down the tree
It’s also flexible enough to fold and push it through the link when your ready to rapell down, or if you forget to put it on the back side of the link, just give your retrieval rope a tug and the washer will pop right through.tether tender.jpgtether tender 2.jpgtether tender 3.jpg

Clever idea. I'm gonna swap out my Celtic stopper for a washer and see if I prefer it.

I can't believe you put your tether around your should mount. That mount probably cost you $500-$600. ;.)

That sir, is fantastic.

Not that I’ve ever forgot to slide my stopper knot out of the way and had to do the climb of shame...I’m way too smart to have done that many, many times.

The ol’ climb of shame......

OP states 1/4” ID for 8mm rope. Anyone run washers like this on 9mm rope, Canyon Elite or C-IV specifically? Wondering if 1/4” ID still fits or if a bigger ID works better.

I been using these things since the OP started this thread.
For my 8mm ropes I've been using 3/16".
I like 1/4" for 9mm ropes.
My Camo Elite is fat, I think I have 5/16 or 3/8" washers for it?

With a 5/16” drill bit, you can make it work lol
