Tethrd "1" stick VS Catalyst Carbon Pro

Just saw a video of the glue failing. Be careful climbing until there is a response from Tethrd on the issue. Good news it looks like the roll pin served it’s purpose.

could you share the video?

I was skeptical of using “glue” to bond two dissimilar materials...I remember a debate comparing glue on sub frames of cars but that’s typically thin metal of same material...

Hearing all of the complaints, these are the reasons I waited to see what tethrd will do about a 2nd gen version. Could be a great stick if they work out the kinks, shame they didn't do it before releasing to begin with.

On another note, I do think they made a mistake business wise by "releasing" them way before they were available for purchase. Probably would've sold a ton more if you could've bought them right when they released.

Are the beast sticks the only sticks that haven't had any form or recall?

For the price were paying for stuff, there shouldn't be any problems. This is one of those instances where I feel like i'm paying an a premium amount of money thinking it's a snap on and figure out its harbor freight quality..

Same exact thing happened with the Gen 1 Predator Platforms. Tethrd did an excellent job covering up the flaws and most folks forgot how shady they run their business.

One would think Tethrd would learn to test products before releasing them to the public.

The beast sticks I had from the 2019 batch all had bent brackets within 8 hunts. I mean bent like spaghetti. But mario replaced all them totally free from a new batch. Now I have over 40 hunts on them and they still look completely new

Well they both are made in the same place. China LOL

You were using aiders on yours correct?

I’ve got OG Beast sticks that are still working great, but I’ve never used an aider with mine.

My feeling is Beast sticks bite trees so well, when you add an aider it cam locks the stick and the angle/force snapped the older brackets.

While I own and still love my Tethrd Phantom, after having my Tethrd Gen1 Predator platform snap under my feet, while 16-17’ up in a tree. I’ve been skeptical. Here’s why...
Have you had to superglue your phantom yet?

Testing will never catch everything and I don't think anyone expects relatively boutique, version 1.0 products to be perfect - however an honest effort should be made and defective products should be replaced. Also it would be good form to avoid claiming competing products are undertested and potentially unsafe while quietly shifting production to version 2.0.

Why are you returning them?

That’s what he does.

When one receives a product they don’t prefer or it doesn’t meet their standards/expectations, one’s choices are to send it back, try it out and keep it long term, try it out and sell to someone else, let it sit in the garage for years unused, or crush it in a 100 ton press. Those are the only choices.

They are all packed up and ready to go back.

Beast sticks are made in USA.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to the harbor freight stuff and the 1 stick LOL both made in china so maybe expect the same quality from both.
