Hey guys, been looking at these saddle companies alot. Been researching the phantom, archon, covert lite and cobra from those different saddle companies. Im 6'4" at 240 if anyone is curious. What is yalls opinions on these saddles and maybe some other suggestion. Also i know the archon is a different style than the other three. I like that built in back support of a two panel. I looked into latitude and cruzr seemed to get better marks from people.

If you prefer a two panel, you only listed one option! If you're considering single panel saddles, the Cobra or the Cruzr XC are solid choices.

I’m 5’8” 165 and always feel like the phantom was a bit too small in width. The deeper seat of the TX5 and the two panel Overwatch feel more comfortable and secure. I do like the phantom but I am way smaller. Good luck.

Hey Longdraw, I'm a pretty big guy also, 6 ft 280, well fat anyway lol. I've used several saddles in the past. My first was the Tethrd Phantom saddle. Great saddle for stick climbing and setting all day. But i got into srt and one stick climbing and the Phantom rides up on you when your hanging mid air with no foot support. I then bought the Eberhart saddle and it is very difficult to keep positioned. I found cruzr saddle company right here in TN and went to his shop and talked to the owner. Nice folks, he is a former rock climber and I described my issues and he sold me his cruzr xc and I love it! Never rides up no pinch points and I can set for hours without any problems.

Thanks for the info guys. DMcdonald, its funny you mentioned an all day sit. I was just talking to my hunting buddy about doing an all day tommorow at a spot we have seen some good bucks chasing does. Thinking about how a saddle would do during a sit like that. I consistently hear good stuff about that XC. Im starting to lean more towards it now.

It's an awesome saddle especially for the money! This is my third year saddle hunting and I'll never use anything else. My son has a farm I plan on hunting here in the next week for the rut and we put up two ladder stands and a hang on (for him) and I'll climb a tree 20 yards from one of those and use my saddle, that's how much more comfortable and easier I think it is to hunt out of verses a stand. If you have knee pads and a back strap for support ALL day brother! Like I said I've other saddles even a rock climbing harness the first year and nothing compares to the Cruzr for single sticking and SRT.

My vote goes to the prior

I have no issues doing an all
Day sit in a saddle, so long as I’ve already had
A number of sits building up to it.

Been using the CGM Sidewinder for two years now. It’s a single panel with a lot of great features. It has to be one of the most comfortable saddles I’ve ever used. I was in it fro 10am till dark all day today with absolutely no issues. I’m hearing great things about the Wood saddles too but have not used one myself. I had a Mantis but didn’t like it but wanted something still minimalistic. I went with the TactiSaddle which is a great saddle and very comfortable as well but I haven’t been able to NOT use the Sifewinder!!! It’s just my go too saddle. I one stick almost exclusively now and then The Oplux bridge allows you to cinch it up small and tight for one sticking then once at HH, you can make infinite adjustments for comfort.

Cobra cobra cobra!!! Nothing bad to say about this thing. 6' 250ish. 40" w. No longer chasing the saddle. This thing has infinite adjustablity. The bridge adjustment can be a little annoying at times. But any rope with a prussic bridge is. If you want to run it lite. You can. I have mine loaded with pouches and suspenders. Don't feel the saddle part. All the weight is in the Suspenders.
I can 1 stick with no issues. DRT it's great.you can adjust the bridge on the loops to minimize pressure. Get the rope belt and ditch the buckles. I was reluctant at first. But not looking back.

Can you elaborate on the rope belt versus the buckles? Never heard of that.

Basically a rope with a friction hitch. Loop the rope, tie a friction hitch into it. You slide it to tighten and loosen. Down side is it doesn't open. Unless to add metal. Up side is no metal contact to clang.

I’ve used the Archon for 2 seasons and love it! I’m 6’3” and 240. Been extremely comfortable. Good luck on whatever you choose. I will say I did slightly modify mine. The adjustment for the panels is not very smooth and definitely needs 2 hand adjustment. Also wish the belt was stiffer. I added a battle belt and ran the waist belt through it and added suspenders.
