Tethrd Gen3 One Sticks $299

I have tried more times than I want to admit. I get an error every time. I guess I’m not supposed to have these.

Put one item in your cart (either a 3 pack or a single stick, but not both), check out and finish transaction. Then start a new order/transaction for additional items. Literally one item at a time that being a 3 pk or a single. Each order of sticks must be a single separate transaction. You cannot have ANY other items in your cart with the sticks.

I did and tethrd doesn’t want my money. I’m over it.
I just want on the site and added 3 to the cart it didn't work for me. Went back on did it again and it worked! Maybe they are having problems with the site a lot of people may be on it. You could contact the costumer service representative he is on here. reagan@tethrdnation.com he is on here Reagan H.

@SRT Saddle Hunter reviewed a bunch of sticks last year I believe and he rated them very high except for the stand off distance. He’s a big dude and he had no issues with them. Not even sure they were the Gen3’s. Again, so far they have been great!! The ultimate would be a carbon fiber/polymer based on the EWO stick and stand-off but even that may not be as light as the Gen3 Tethrd One Sticks.

If you can get them at that price get them! I got a set when they first had the sale. They are awesome! Foot room was not an issue and I’m a size 12! Lightest sticks out there!!

I got a chance to try them at the Florida Meet Up.
They sure are light. That's the only good thing I have to say.
The guy who owned them installed two on a tree. I am not impressed with the attachment method, maybe he was not doing it correctly but he did not get the Chinasteel rope very tight. Not like a truckers hitch.
I stepped on the first stick, reached up and grabbed the top step of the second stick, stood up and the top stick kicked out. My LW sticks have never done that.
The stand off distance is ______. I have size 14 and I had on running shoes, too little foot room. No way I would feel comfortable with my Iceman boots on.
Then factor in the lack of aider options and the One sticks are not the One for me.
Oh ya, his sticks did not have end caps and you could see that small, very small roll pin that is holding everything together. I prefer a grade 8 bolt. Good luck if you have a set.

i've taken to wrapping the amsteel around the post, pulling, and then finishing....that wrap at least gets you similar to the 2x mech advantage of a cam strap...no way to replicate a trucker's hitch tightness though without adding a prusik loop or something on the amsteel that you'd use to double the amsteel back towards the cleat thing to make your 3x advantage (might not be a bad idea but would double climb time or close to it)

But everyone has an opinion! The attachment method is probably the best in the industry! IMO Lol! :). I could see where a size 14 would be tough especially with big boots!

it's probably the quickest/easiest....far from the tightest on the tree....but tight enough

I think the only way it would get even better(tighter) is wrap with trucker’s hitch then tie off??:grinning:

I have no issue with the attachment. Never had a kickout. About the same feel as beast sticks with daisy chains to me.

You won’t get anything as tight as a truckers hitch. Not even a cam strap… but that also adds a lot of fiddle factor in comparison.

try this....wrap the amsteel around the tube once so the amsteel is going back the direction from which it came....pull and hold this tension and then finish on the notches....should be tighter that way

you could do a trucker's hitch with these if you replaced the ropes with a daisy chain, put the daisy chain over the center doohickey using the second loop and leaving the first loop of daisy chain free....go through that loop, double it back on itself and find another loop, this takes the chain back to the notch thing....finish by putting strands of the chain on the notch thingie

i wouldn't do it unless it proves not tight enough

you could also make a slideable prusik loop that you position on the rope in a good position and use that to double the rope back to the notch thing to do a trucker's hitch

i've never had a stick kick out either (mostly climbed with hawk heliums)....trick for me is be careful and don't climb overly gnarly trees where your sticks are at 45 degree angles

Good suggestions. I personally have no issue getting it tight enough. I use the trucker’s on my predator platform with a amsteel daisy train, it’s rock solid!

I will set the stick on the tree and get the amsteel around the tree and pull it tight, then turn the stick from 12 o’clock which is all 4 points of contact and turn my wrist to 3 o’clock while holding the stick which is just 2 points of contact and pull the amsteel tight again then cam the stick back to 12 o’clock so it really tightens the slack in the amsteel then I’ll tie the Dino lock and that usually keep that thing really snug to the tree.
Hopefully y’all understand what I’m describing…

so you put the top standoff against the tree, but the bottom of the stick is pointing to 3 o'clock, you then do a wrap of the rope around the dino thingie, bring the stick to rest vertical, and then finish up with your dino lock notch work?
