Tethrd HYS Strap - Made in CHINA :(

River Hunter,

Trophyline's website is going live on October 9th. Nothing to see or purchase now.

You don't need a Facebook account to check tethrd's page. I've never had one and I was just checking on shipping updates because my friend had one on order. Are the saddles going to be made in China. I thought they said they were. I'm too lazy to try and find the post...

Just received my Tethrd Hys Strap in the mail today. Had I known it was made in China, I would not have purchased it. The only way the consumer was to know this is by receiving the product, as there is no indication of country of origin on the Hys Strap product page.

This seems very deceptive advertising (or lack of advertising), in that the American Flag and Made in America/USA are prominent on (almost) all of the Tethrd products. In fact, at the bottom of their home page, there is a Made in USA symbol both before and after where it says Tethrd - Get Connectd/Copyright 2018! I guess they need to update that.

If shipping it back wasn't so expensive (as a percentage of the product price), I would do it and just make my own.

Curious how many other products are not made here in the US and not labeled as such on the Tethrd site. Every product that I see on Amazon, etc. indicates the country of origin, so much so you would think there is a law to ensure the consumer is aware of it.

For what it is, the product is fine. I just would like to keep my money supporting local manufacturers.

You must have a different Amazon page than me because about 99% of the products don't list where it was made and people are always in the question section asking where stuff was made. As far as I can find products are required to be marked with country of origin but nothing I see says it is required to show that on a listing or site. It just needs a "Made in ????" somewhere on the box or product.

I have never seen that about the saddles.

Art,

Nice handle! From Vandelay Industries, right?

Sold, however shipping will be another $20.

Firehunter,

But this situation is a bit different. At the bottom of every single Tethrd page it says Made in America twice! It is not silent as in your example.

Obviously an oversight since moving part of it overseas. Return your hys strap and tell them why, then watch Ernie's YouTube video to make your own, if it bothers you that much. Pretty sure any other company isn't putting out detailed instructions on how to make their stuff.
Sooo done with the nitpickiness.

Or I can just send Ernie the $20 he mentions at the end of the video to have him make me one! :)

Of all the products anyone of us buys in a day or uses in a day I wonder what percent was made in, grown in, or originated in America. I Bet it's less than 50% easily. I give all that type of stuff very little thought or concern at the end of the day. We live in a global economy for the most part, and have been for a while. It is unavoidable.

Good lord these anti tethrd posts are starting to get old. I heard it a few places that their accessories would be made in China. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it was done so the American companies making their saddles could focus on saddles and not accessories due to the long wait for saddles. So If they were to stay 100% American made there would be another post on here about how their wait times are too long vs this one stating they weren’t being transparent about where accessories are made. My take is this. If you buy from Tethrd you are supporting a growing American company of SaddleHunters which in turn as they grow will create more American Jobs. And at the end of the day if none of that satisfies you, return it or sell it and buy from another company that fits your beliefs. 4am rant over.

Here's my take. I tend to agree with the op. I want Tethrd to succeed. I want Tethrd to grow. I got in on the ground floor, I've spent alot of money with them. However, their original message was "For saddle hunters, by saddle hunters, 100% American made", and that resonated with me. I then bought the Versa Straps when they came out, without a second thought. Then I found out, from a thread here (I don't have FB, that is garbage for the soul), that their accessories are now outsourced overseas. I won't lie when I say I was a little disappointed. With that said, I won't send them back, I like them, but I may be apt to point my money at a different manufacturer for the same or similar product in the future. I'm not going to SCOUR their news feed for months of news for a small blurb about something. Their webpage could in fact have something on page 1 stating that accessories are manufactured overseas. With that said, there is not a soul on here who isn't using product made in China, and I am not saying Tethrd aren't transparent, I just think that information could have been provided better to the average consumer.

Good luck all, happy hanging.

Would it be better made in the usa with foreign materials

Preach. That’s what I was thinking. Most textiles no longer come from America. So I ended if it was stitched up here.... probably not ‘Mercian

But it’s early. I’m not hunting today nor have I had coffee. Hahaha

Like someone said. It’s deer season. Go kill something.

Now then, get your equipment--your quiver and bow--and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.
