Tethrd HYS Strap - Made in CHINA :(

DC10,

Where is it on their website? I just scoured it, but couldn't readily find it. And what exactly are your referring to as being on their website? I certainly see "Made in America", "Oh yeah…it’s 100% made in America", American Flags on many products, but nothing regarding China or the Chinese Flag. There is no search function on the News page, so I didn't read every single article, nor would anyone expect a consumer to dig that deeply. The country of origin should be listed on the product page, just like it is for the Mantis.
It’s the very last shipping update that they posted. You click on “news” and then “shipping update.”

I am sure for all companies taking production over seas is not an easy one. But when you figure in that the profit margins more than quadruple, production time and quantities increase over night it is hard to not source it. It is a business and regardless how it started, all hunting companies are in it to profit and support their families. I’m sure all of your camo says made in China on it, honestly as hard as some of us try I’d be willing to say 75% of our belongings are made in China. We are in a global economy and at least these companies are Americans producing goods for Americans.
Now ... the website should be updated so it’s not misleading. That is the issue of at least it seems like the issue with the guys. It doesn’t have to say made in China but it shouldn’t say 100% made in America. And from what I see from a quick look is that the only product that says 100% made In America is the Mantis. The materials may be made in China or somewhere over seas ? Maybe not? I have no idea but I am sure they are being cut and sewn here in the states.
But the bottom line is any business that is not looking for ways to increase profits will most likely end up failing in the long run. The trick is to not sacrifice the quality that built the companies reputation. It’s really hard to build a solid reputation but only takes a bad week to destroy it in this world of social media.

Enjoy the woods and the challenge of the harvest! After all that’s why we are all here! We love deer hunting

And I’m moving this into the vendor reviews section.

It's not economically feasable to make the accessories in-country. Price would almost double, leading to lower sales, leading to market loss of said accessories. I would have no problem buying China made accessories from an American (veteran?) owned company staffed with a bunch of tree swingin American made folks and doing all sort of American **** with it. Killin deer, Lifting Samuri's, quick takeout sushi, and stcking it to the man with my Amazon Firesfick.

I will start off by saying I am about as patriotic as they come. I have been in the army for going on 15 years now, believe in my job, believe in this country, and have fought for it 5 times. I have only ever bought American made cars and trucks, buy American anything every chance I get and my wife is a veteran as well. All that being said, we are talking about a strap here guys. And it's impossible to buy 100 percent American all the time. Too expensive to make, too expensive to sell, and too expensive to buy. Almost everything is outsourced at this point. Tools like DeWalt, Craftsman, Milwaukee say made in the USA with global materials (Chinese steel if I had to guess). My F-150 has a made in Mexico stamp on the engine. Even if tethrd is outsourcing some of their accessories to other places you are still supporting an AMERICAN company. Yes your money is going elsewhere but you are supporting AMERICANS and their AMERICAN BUISNESS and that buisness was created by a group of guys who created it to accommodate the hunting adventures of guys like us. I think that's pretty damn cool if you ask me and worth MY money.even if you have to dig a little to find that information that makes tethrd no different than most other companies who do the same thing. It's usually hidden to a certain degree but if I remember right I believe they were pretty upfront about that happening from the beginning. If you want something fast it is more than likely going to be foreign. If you want something of the highest quality that comes with a high price and a wait. In my opinion, they made a good choice in outsourcing the small, non life supporting accessories in order to get them to us faster. If anyone has issues with that hit up tethrd. They are a good group of guys and will probably rectify your problem in a timely manner. As for me, I'll keep my versa straps. I love em

Amen, hats off to all the entrepreneurs who took a risk and made something happen. If they outsourced an ancillary item and didn't change their website to inform everyone that a component of a component of an ancillary item was made in China, I couldn't care less.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I would also like to add that I don't know any company in any industry that has DIY page on a product that they sell. I can guarantee you if you go buy the materials (which will come from China) and do it yourself see if $25 is not a great deal. I agree let's support a company that does so much than just sell products.

I have all the materials on hand and the ability to make these. I’ve made a couple for myself. That being said it’s enough work I wouldn’t try to make and sell them for $25. Not worth my time.
