tethrd mantis or aero Hunter flex? Which ones better

Seems like lots of folks here prefer the Flex over the Mantis, but no one is really talking about body size/shape, which seems to me (as a newbie who's pondering which to buy as a first saddle) to be very important to this discussion. I'm 6'3, 165 lbs. with a 32" waist and no backside to speak of. Do y'all think the Flex would be as advantageous (and worth the extra $70) for a guy built like me, or does it really only shine for the bigger fellers out there?

Also, it seems obvious that the Mantis is better for hot weather hunting. With the SBW heater, the Mantis also seems better suited for cold-weather hunting. I doubt you could make the Flex cooler for hot hunts, but what options are there for warming up the Flex?

I've never owned a mantis or a flex, so I won't comment on the comparison but, I have hunted in both a Kestrel and a Kite, both in temps ranging from 0 deg to 90 deg and I have never noticed my saddle cause my backside to be any hotter or cooler then the rest of my body. In my opinion temps should probably be the last consideration when buying a saddle.

I have the kestrel, kite, trophyline, DIYs and a few other recent purchases for reviews, and 5 mantis saddles - that should tell ya what I prefer ;) Seriously, as far as comfort they are all about the same. If you sit in a saddle all day you will feel it. period. Same as if you lay in the same position on the couch all day. None of them are unmanageable. How you set your tether and what you put your feet on have way more to do with overall comfort then the differences between the saddles. if you want pure comfort - make a fleece saddle as nothing made comes close to distributing your weight more evenly with less pressure points then a fleece saddle - even the beloved JX3 (the only thing that makes this "more comfortable" is it takes the weight off your feet/knees) will not compare with a fleece saddle.

But like mentioned above, everyone differs in what they like and can tolerate. I used my mantis saddles for the entire month of Oct - present - and I hunted just about every da, all day since 1 Nov.

finally - I would seriously consider taking Flings advice above ;)

You should try a JX 3
